God i hope they remake the anime without leaving out any of the plot. Ken is easily one of top 5 anime characters ever imo because of the fucked up adaption his character goes under appreciated by most people

I watched Tokyo Ghoul's anime before reading the manga. I was hooked during its 1st season because Kaneki is cool and all, but I got disappointed on the other seasons. Nevertheless, at some point I read the manga and it broke expectations. I expected more Kan-Edgy like in the 1st season, but what I got was a story of Kaneki's life; his reluctance to move forward, his suffering, him being lost in the chaos of life, accepting himself, finding a family, and finding happiness. It's unfortunate that Ishida Sensei rushed the ending, but the journey of the manga was outstanding. It felt very human. Hell, even the side characters were given a chance to flesh out themselves making the universe very vibrant with humanity, an ironic way to describe such a grey universe

Can anybody tell me a single significant thing Arima did for Kaneki that didn't have some kind of ulterior motive relating to his own goals? Even if you ignore all the awful stuff he did to manipulate Kaneki into becoming Haise, you're still left with the fact that he gave him a new life in which he would make a lot of new friends, whilst simultaneously grooming him for the role of the OEK, despite the fact that taking that role would eventually pit him against those friends. Don't even get me started on the fact that Arima was supposedly the OEK, even though we don't know anything he ever actually did to help ghouls, and the main thing we do know is that he spent most of his life mercilessly slaughtering them. There's a fine line between enigmatic and confusing, and Arima is a very confusingly-written character. Did he even have a single ghoul eye, which was supposed to be the main condition for being the OEK? 🤔

This is seriously one of the most beautiful piano suites i´ve ever heard. Tokio Ghoul is one of the most amazing story out there i was realy glad that they made and anime adaptation and even tho it wasn´t perfect, i can´t but enjoy those moments when the incredible soundtrack kicks in.

Does anyone ever just sit outside n think about meanings to every aspect of life possible even when you aren’t listening to this masterpiece of a song? I really sit n fall into a bottomless abyss n it’s very hard to awake from so I’m wondering if anyone else goes thru it as well 😅

I used to engage in this practice often as hobby. Very until, I reached a certain conclusion within what you refer as the “abyss” and lost utter confidence and belief in everything. Reflection is good, but be wary. So as to not fall for any unprecedented conclusions. The mind is powerful, after all.

He stabbed him through both of his eyes, dragged his half-dead body away by his hair, locked him up in Cochlea, lied to him about all of his friends being dead to mentally break him, and then took advantage of his memory loss and manipulated him into accepting a new identity. He then groomed him for the position of the OEK, whilst also giving him a new life in which he would make a lot of new friends, despite the fact that taking the role of the OEK would eventually pit him against those friends. Kaneki needed a proper father-figure - not a psychopath who only treated Kaneki as an extension of himself and his own goals.

I listened to this last summer (or was it the previous year) when I was cleaning my room. I got so nostalgic for tokyo ghoul....is it bad that 2014-2015 seemed so simple even now. Or maybe it's because I was still a teen. Even if the ending was shit, TG was always important to me.

what a journey both the manga and anime has been for me! and also probably for you guys too! it's been a...… good time. I will forever miss my boy Kaneki. thinking about the pain he's been going through really motivates me to do something. listening to this now makes me cry. because of all the memories I have. and I know it will all be gone in a few years and when that time come, I hopefully have found joy and happiness in life. But for now i'll stick with my mentor Kaneki even though he's not real I still will have him as my mentor!
