Something I would change to make the story a bit more real, or maybe work this detail into the next story.... The hero should use a torch. Searching at night, or foraging through unfamiliar territory at night or in low light situations, your hero needs to be able to see inorder to defend himself. It doesn't make practical sense to leave kinds of details out of story. Think about it..unless the hero already some kind of augmented night vision, or absolutely must approach by stealth, under the cover of darkness... Anyways, these are important details not to skip over. Too many Sci-Fi story omit these details regularly.

Then there is chemistry and the girl is all for it and the guy is actually a FTM nun that’s all shy and the chick is now all about just lay back and think of mother England and then release your inner man. Makes no sense. The guy, due to the story start, should be the one doing the explaining to her since he already knows about and understands the magnetic draw she has to him not the othe4 way around. It’s like a catholic priest having to be talked around into anal raping the 8 yo alter boy by that boy who doesn’t want to be anal raped and then blown into.

One long repeat leading to the last few words of the story. Good story but you need to remove the repeating section and add some context for the translation to the ending. This is almost like an assignment in school that was left unfinished.?
