It’s from Amazon , it’s an off brand , but really good quality and it’s a pop up. Can’t find it anymore so u would have to find another brand . Most of the off brand tents on Amazon is Chinese made, most of the brands relabel but it’s from the same factory’s .

All I can get is a dark blue igloo BMX, would you recommend buying it even in the dark color?
@Overlanddude

Yes for sure get it . A darker color will get warmer in the sun , same concept as a black car in the sun, but u shouldn’t be keeping ur Cooler in the sun anyways. So with that said, yes for sure get it . Thanks for your question and good luck

You can tape reflectix onto it or build a cover for it (bottom and top) to add a lot more insulation. @UguysRnuts has it all figured out

I have both BMX 25 and BMX 52. I can trust the 25 for 3 days with food 4 days with beverages as i pack a mix of frozen bottles and ice. With the 52 qt BMX i use frozen 2 liter bottles on the bottom, and ice over the rest. I can trust this cooler for 5 days. The frozen 2 liter bottles really add a solid day if not more plus if needed i have cold water to drink as the byproduct. Another huge benifit since I am often at public campgrounds is had friends have RTICs and Yetis stolen. Thieves are not really looking to steal anything labeled Igloo.

A drain plug is redundant if you use frozen water or gatorade bottles instead of loose ice and as an added benefit, your sandwiches don't get soggy.

I bought the coho from Costco , actually bought 2, the one u said and the soft sided coho. Test it first , mine failed miserably in the ice test , and still had a slight leak , although much better than the igloo in the leak dept. I returned it asap, on the plus side u can return it at Costco with no issues if it doeskt work out . For me Ice retention was a must as I back country camp and must have several days of ice .

Don't let the absence of a gasket put you off. The IGLOO design and closure system makes for a very simple and effective way to add $5.00 worth of weatherstripping making it completely air-tight.

Yes feet to keep it off the ground is huge. The reflectix keep off direct sunlight. Gasket as well. The combo of all 3 seems like it would be very effective.

@@sinskeleton64 Home Depot sell a self adhesive tubular weatherstripping and Reflectix in various widths. I made a ring of weatherstripping by gluing a piece of soda straw into both ends, making it a sealed loop (like an inner tube) which doesn't compress or leak. I used a couple pieces of double sided tape to attach a single piece of Reflectix cut to fit the recessed area on the front and back and wrapped around the bottom. The feet were dollar store toy hockey pucks glued and screwed into plastic wall anchors and filled with silicone caulk. The caulking is exposed through the washer sized holes cut in the bottoms of the pucks and provides a non-slip characteristic.
@UguysRnuts
@UguysRnuts Жыл бұрын
@@ndanieltx Reflectix does much more than that. It also provides a sealed air-layer of insulation, while reflecting all RADIANT heat; not just "direct sunlight", that's why it's wrapped around the bottom and why I use a floating piece on top of the food. It's also good for creating temperature "zones" within the cooler, especially if using dry-ice where you don't want something to freeze solid.

@@Overlanddude When making the gasket, I suggest you use a hollow tubular style of seal, cut it to size and then use Goop® to glue in a 2" long length of soda straw to make it a sealed ring. Peel off the backing and attach it into the grooved slot of the cooler rim. The result is not only waterproof, but completely airtight as well. Next, reduce heat absorption through conduction with the ground by gluing and screwing plastic feet to the bottom. I used four miniature hockey pucks I picked up at the dollar store and then filled them with silicone sealant to make them strong enough to take the weight of a person sitting on the cooler. Lastly, pickup a roll of Reflectix® from Home Depot and make a loose fitting cover with a slot for the handle to protrude. You can also use Goop to attach some Reflectix panels in the thinner spots of the cooler insulation where stylists sculpted in recessed areas on the sides and bottom. The final touch was a bit of wooden cutting board cut and bevelled to fit the recess on the top of cooler at the front edge. If you're going to use the cooler as a seat, you may also want a piece of 1" Ethafoam (black, closed cell packing material) cut to the dimensions of the lid. The slots in the corners of the lid provide an easy way to strap it in place. These simple hacks turn a "4 Day cooler" into an 8 Day cooler for half the price of a Yeti.
