Where did you set the polescompared to your net size? Our net is 10 x 35 so I am guessing we need to set the poles back about a foot on each end to pull it tight.

If you use the system I did, the side of the net with winches will be at least a foot longer than the net. The other end of our net is fixed tight to the pole top and bottom. But yes i would set the poles longer than the nets length, the winches pull the top tight and we tie the bottom of net to bottom of poles. Have fun!

What did you use for poles and where did you get it?

I used aluminum fence poles, went to a fence supply company and got the thickest walled pipe they had. They cut the pipe to 13 feet. Used concrete to secure them 3 feet deep.

Great idea for a backyard batting cage. Nice job. How much did it cost you? Where did you get the net? Do you have a parts list and rough price? Thanks

Also. You said you sunk he poles. How far down? Are the poles stuck in the ground or are they anchored in there by something?

Can you describe the poles used? Looks like a couple of people had asked about the poles already. It would be helpful to know.
