Will officially be 18 months unemployed in two weeks. 10 years later, employers still discriminate.

I immigrated from United States into Canada and there are stronger labor laws in that country. In Germany and other European countries the labor laws are even stronger. It's almost impossible to get fired or let go in Denmark so people live and work in their jobs for most of their lives. Predatory capitalism is god-awful is destructive. This is not the capitalism I remember of the 1970s where everyone pretty much worked for an employer for 20 years.

The military has become weaker, and so has the family. People don't even bother getting married even after they have children. Is that the fault of gay marriage? Well, it didn't help. I also thought the moderator was very biased and neither she nor the proponent of gay marriage even bothered to consider the concerns presented by the representative of the Ruth Institute. He was the only person engaging in defamation. Anyway, the Obergefell decision was very wrongly decided, and I believe is responsible for all the sexual and identity confusion this country is experiencing right now.
@Grokford2 жыл бұрын
The concerns were undefined and unfounded. Children have never had a right to two parents let alone two parents of different sexes. It’s been seven years the laws aren’t different, family isn’t any different. But queer people can sit by their dying spouses in the hospitals and children have parents who love them. You might not care about that but it’s very important for others.
@riverebec12 жыл бұрын
@@Grokford Children have never had the right to two parents?! Not all children may have grown up having a mother and father, but they certainly had a right to both of their parents. I don't know why the adult desires of "queer" people come before the needs of innocent children.
@Grokford2 жыл бұрын
@@riverebec1 if you give up your child for a closed adoption. Your child has no legal right to any information about you or their other parent; and neither does their adoptive parent. You can argue that every child deserves the love of a parent and I think I agree with that but that is not a legal right and it certainly isn’t enforced in society. Gay couples being willing to care for a child may be out of personal preference but I’d hardly think the selfless sacrifice of parenthood would be considered selfish. Even if you are completely and baselessly firm i your presumption that Gay parents are inferior, are your really so bold as to claim that they’re worse than the foster care system⸮
@riverebec12 жыл бұрын
@@Grokford So, except for their very existence, children do not need their mother and father?
@Grokford2 жыл бұрын
@@riverebec1 it really depends. There are certainly cases where a child might need it’s parents but that’s not a hard and fast rule. There is an ethnic group in China where marriage is rare or non existent and children are raised by their mothers and siblings along with their aunts children. Many parts of Europe had clan family structure as opposed to nuclear families. Children may need family, but what kind isn’t so clear or generalizable.

For a very long time my experience was like this. I'd try to get a job which I believed was commensurate with my qualifications. I would be rejected on the grounds that I lacked experience. I then tried to get jobs at a lower level which would enable me to get some relevant experience, only to be told I was over-qualified. So what jobs could I get? Menial jobs with no prospects nor any opportunity to get the experience employers seem to expect everyone to have. Then, of course, time passes, and being unemployed becomes a self-fulfilling condition as it becomes difficult to get a job because you have been out of the workforce for so long.
@thetechnicanwithaheart16822 жыл бұрын
I suggest you do everything in your power to get the f*** out of the United States because we have the most screwed-up call through that allows this to happen there are other countries that if you can Master their language you will have most likely better prospects of better job security and that's the most important thing. The United States has turned into a toilet when it comes to morals ethics values of its culture. I'm old enough to remember the early seventies and I can remember when everyone had a job for 20 years everyone had a pension. Everyone made considerably more money versus the cost of living and the blue collar class never struggled. This is called income equality it's a term you will here quite often I suggest you go on KZbin and watch the movie in equality for all by Robert Reich. Us is really a slave of capitalistic predatory corporations. This s***'s been going on since the late 1980s when lots of things. Used to be made in the United States have been outsourced to China. I can remember even in the early 70s every object I picked up I looked at the bottom and it always said made in the United States. Any high school graduate that can work in a factory made a living wage. But it was even better in the 1960s in 1960 you can work a minimum wage job in California or Arizona and you were qualified to buy a house. We have become the most greedy corrupt ignorance narcissistic country in the world. You don't deserve this I don't deserve this nor does any other blue collar worker in the United States deserve what is happening to our class. Canada is falling into the traps of a capitalistic Market and it was not always like that either. China billionaires Factory owners and Wall Street pretty much has the blue collar by the throat
