The recent three general Elections results are no surprise for some of us - this is just long over due. The Political Dinosaurs are gradually loosing ground and relevance, for instance, just go and check in Lesotho, South Africa and Botsowana. "All thanks to the Agents of Change, long-live Agents of Change long-live - forward Progressive Movement forward".

It was a wake up during COVID period when SA closed its borders to cater for its citizens, it was a tussle and hustle to convince them that we dearly need foodstuffs here, though they later considered relaxing the rules it was quiet a challenge. Its also going to boost the economies of the two countries going forward as their agricultural sectors are going to grow and not to be swallowed by South African suppliers.

As a Botswana citizen, I am full of joy by the decisions taken. First with the diamonds and now it's the veggies. I don't see anything wrong with wanting to give your people an opportunity. Just as South Africa has been xenophobic towards other Africans to protect her jobs, Botswana also has the responsibility to protect her ECONOMY. Wisest move
@YouWell22 ай бұрын
Botswana also has the responsibility to be xenophobic? Your logic flawed... Protecting one's economic interests and ensuring the citizens are prioritized is not xenophobia. Well done to Botswana for prioritizing her sovereignty and her people...well done for the strides in building her food security

You have to understand how these things operate. Xenophobia in SA is caused buy deindustrialization of other countries in SADC. If other countries rely on importing goods from SA guess what will happen to their local industries. They will come to SA looking for jobs as a result you end up having xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals mainly blacks. The only way to fix the problem is for all SADC countries to protect their industries by banning imports from SA
