There is a half-inch black screw in the manual bag. What is it for?

That is most likely the screw to hold the chain guard of the pedal kit on when you purchase and install it. To be 100% sure you can send a photo of it to our Customer Service Rock Stars at [email protected]

I have some play in the fork area, it wobbles forwards and backwards, spacers fitted correctly as far as I know

If I'm understanding your question correctly, the drum brakes are adjustable so they can set to react as quickly or slowly as you like. Like other bike brake applications it is dependent on how hard you're pulling on the lever.

The biggest piece of learning to ride a bike is learning balance. That is why our bikes don't have pedals. It allows the child to propel themselves with their feet and learn balance naturally. We realize many have learned to ride in the past with pedals on the bike but people also used to travel primarily by horse as well...
