Correct P8A1 has land and groove rifling. Source, me. I own one half of two consecutive pairs along with a standard P8-my friend who went in with me on buys for them owns the other half of the consecutive paired P8A1s. They are fantastic shooting pistols. I shoot one and keep the other in museum quality condition. Having owned USPs, I actually really prefer the safety on the P8 and P8A1.
