Hey so i dont have any check engine light for these codes but my g37 has like a delay when accelerating do u think i should clean the MAP or what should i do?
@TheAutoTeacherКүн бұрын
Hi, it's really hard to diagnose without a PO code, there are so many things that can affect the acceleration of a vehicle. It doesn't hurt to clean your map sensor or replace it, but it's kind of a shot in the dark without a PO code.

What where the symptoms the car was having for you to clean the airflow sensor?
@TheAutoTeacher5 күн бұрын
If you notice issues like rough idling, poor fuel economy, or a check engine light, cleaning the MAF sensor can be a good first step. Cleaning is often effective if the sensor is dirty but not damaged.

this is a super helpful video! im pulling my hair out with a 2010 corolla - intermittent CEL, ABS, VSC, wacky revving, twitchy or dead speedometer, lack of shifting, speed sensor and P0500 codes. sometimes all or a combo happen, sometimes it runs like normal! getting to last resort of "is it the ECU"? --if it is im glad to find this vid with the link to the folks in NY you got yours from. did it work as advertised 'plug n play' after the reset cycle? thanks!
@TheAutoTeacher5 күн бұрын
Thank you. An illuminated Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is typically the initial indication of a faulty ECM. However, as the MIL may also indicate other issues, such as a malfunctioning sensor or a wiring problem or a battery with a dead short. It's important to use a Scan Tool to verify that MIL illumination is a result of a faulty ECM before proceeding with repairs.Yes, the ECU worked as advertised.

I have an issue, five minutes after starting car, rough jumping idle. Up n down. Changed throttle two years ago. New belt and ac compressor this january. New egr valve last year. Just cleaned throttle and maf sensor today, battery was disconnected like it should. Hooked everything back up, started car and it still did the up down idle after five minutes. Its like the car dont like cold weather, but today is in the 40s. Im out of ideas. Oh, a snake sound like sssss happens every 10 seconds near engine

@ChrisD-lz5oh7 күн бұрын
@TheAutoTeacher ok, ill inspect. The sound isn't like an air sound, or hiss. Its more like glass on the ground and someone steps on it and drags their foot backwards, like a scraping but audibly it's like a "shhhhh" but not consistent, it goes away, comes back. If not a leak, what else?

I purchased a brand new 5 year warranty pro series 94 at part source in Canada and the vent won’t fit into the battery
@TheAutoTeacher18 күн бұрын
First make sure the battery is correct for your vehicle!! Batteries often have a specific size for the vent tube opening. If the new battery's vent hole is different in diameter or design than the old vent tube, call the auto parts store to check if the new battery is correct or comes with a specific vent tube or adapter to fit your application.Most auto parts stores will carry battery vent adapters.

Hello I have a 2000 Camry 2.2L V4. I have a check engine light, scanned it with my pro scanner and reads P0420 “Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1. Which sensor do I need to replace , please help
@TheAutoTeacher25 күн бұрын
Hello, unfortunately their are many reasons for a PO420 code, it most likely indicates a faulty catalytic converter. I would start with the oxygen sensors upstream and downstream one at a time. Depending on vehicle mileage, a poorly running motor caused by spark plugs/exhaust leaks and fuel injector problems can also throw a P420 code. As long as the P0420 is the only code and the engine runs normally then driving the vehicle is not a problem.

I have a 2009 vw rabbit with the same engine and there's a second coolant temperature sensor on the lower radiator hose, driver side. How do I replace it without loosing a ton of coolant. Will the air get into the system?
@TheAutoTeacher25 күн бұрын
Removing the coolant temperature sensor on the lower radiator hose you will lose a majority of the coolant. I would jack the car up and use a clean bucket and remove the lower cooling hose hopefully catching most the coolant. Once drained ,you can then replace your coolant temp sensor and reinstall the hose. YES, to bleed the cooling system, leave the car on the jacks so the the coolant tank is the highest point in the system ,take the coolant tank cap off and start the car .While the engine warms, it will "burp" all the air trapped in the system through the coolant tank, watching closely the cars temp as it rises, to make sure the engine doesn't overheat. At some point the coolant will be so hot that it will start to boil out of the coolant tank, then put the coolant tank cap back on.Once the engine cools down repeat if needed, until no air bubbles are seen in the coolant tank and the engine temp is stable.

Sorry - another one- I’m seeing generic replacement sensors that appear to be all black plastic. The oem version has some white plastic and maybe less material on it. Are the generics a good, (less expensive) option?
@TheAutoTeacher26 күн бұрын
You can purchase a less expensive part, just make sure that it's fits the specifications of the manufacture and that it's coming from a reputable supplier.

Great video- question- do I need to disconnect battery? Also does the check engine light automatically go away at some point? How do I know if the sensor just needs to be replaced after cleaning it?
@TheAutoTeacher26 күн бұрын
Thank you, no need to disconnect the battery. If it fixes the problem the light will go off after a short drive, or you will need to clear it with a OBD2 scanner. If the light stays on the the MAF will need to be replaced.

You have two oxygen sensors on your 2.4 Toyota motor. You will want to replace the one after the catalytic converter for the PO138 code.
@WetsocksandavocadosАй бұрын
@TheAutoTeacher thank you. I just watched it live on my hour ride home. The sensor 1 is bouncing around 3.o volts which is crazy high I heard and the 2nd(downstream) wasn't reading any this morning but I tapped on it , uplugged and plugged back in. That was reading at steady speed around .4 to .5 and the waves on the graph seemed consistant. I think I'm just going to replace both. OH and my STFT stayed under +8 and -8.

So if my Infiniti g37 has this code , replacing the sensor makes it go away? Or is there something that could be further causing it
@TheAutoTeacherАй бұрын
P0345 stands for “Camshaft Position Sensor “A” Circuit (Bank 2). It could, but there are other underlined timing/ wiring issues that could also be causing the problem. It's a good place to start.

My car loses power mid drive and refuses to accelerate until I turn off and turn on again and Igot p0016 code.chatgpt thinks this might be the problem.thoughts?
@TheAutoTeacher2 ай бұрын
It might be worth considering as a potential culprit. A malfunctioning or clogged solenoid can affect the timing and cause the P0016 code.The P0016 code stands for “Camshaft Position A - Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1)”, which means your crankshaft and camshaft are not in sync. The most common causes of the P0016 code include a damaged timing chain or belt, a faulty camshaft or crankshaft reluctor wheel, and a bad camshaft or crankshaft sensor.
