@thequietfisho18 күн бұрын
If it has a screwed in knob it can be replaced easily!
How much braid did it take? Also did you tension the braid enough? There is a really nice daichii line winder you can get that makes spooling and unspooling so much easier

What a joke. This knot has been around for a long time. Alberto put his name on it, and know calls it by his name. What BS. Any variation of an Albright is still called in some way an Albright. Look up Cosmo Albright. Look up locked Albright. Two knots that are a little different then the original, but still more or less called the same and certainly not some hacks name. This knot has been called an Mexican Albright for ever. What an ego to call it his name. Don't feed into his BS. Give Jimmy Albright the respect and claim on his knot. Don't let some hack who goes around and does shows get off by teaching people "his" knot.

Is it important that the coils on the back way are exactly in the middle between the coils on the go way? Because when you’re on the boat with 1m waves this is the hardest part..

Instead of doing 3 to 5 overhand knots.. i just do a standard fishermans knot (clinch) with 5 wraps. Its actually faster and stronger, and wont come undone. But in all honesty.. i never tie braid straight to floro/mono anyway. I use a swivel, and tie trilene knots on both side.. which gives top breaking strength, and solves any line twist. I dont like reeling any knot through the gides. And because all tbe salt/fresh water is muddy in my area of texas.. even straight braid is ok 90% of the time. The only clear water around here is in swimming pools

Couldnt I do a rizutto finish in place of the 4 half hitches? I think maybe that would create a sort of bullet tip shape on the lead end as it runs out the guides at cast. Maybe even dot it with superglue.

I don’t understand passing over the knot to make your half hitch. Makes the knot thicker. Why not just cut a small piece of braid and tie overhand knots on the leader end of the Alberto knot.
@thequietfisho3 ай бұрын
Have your tried it? It works beautifully..

It leaves a line of braid on top of your knot. You’re better off finishing off with a rizzuto after that. Still pretty slim. I’ll see how it holds up
