This gets me thinking.... Could more high octane songs like "Tek It" by Cafuné be made cello covers using this method?

That's a great idea, I think that would sound awesome as a cello cover

now the trick I've been working on is the fingerings for each mode for cello. there's a couple ways, but it's also important to understand context. for example blues tends to use mixolydian. so using a blues fingering might be more effective. OR is it better to have a universal pattern? tough question.... it's easier to understand that the modes are just major or minor scales with altered scale degrees. like this for sure. one thing I would add is that you should break down the modes into two different categories. major and minor modes. major: ionian, lydian, mixolydian minor: phrygian, dorian, locrian, aeolian just saying, raise this, lower that isn't specific enough. for example: mixolydian is specifically a MAJOR scale with a lowered 7th. phyrgian is a MINOR scale with a lowered 2nd. much easier to reference the major and minor as cellist cause we already practice major and minor. (aeolian is just a natural minor, and ionian is just major, so working on the other 5 is more important)

Stopped at 1:52 the first sounded hollow soft and warm. 2 sounded tight & solid. So my guess 1wood...... 2 carbon

I got all three comparisons correct. The carbon fiber has a rounder, richer sound.

I could tell the carbon fiber cello because its tone reminds me of people using PVC pipes as horns.

Got them all correct. Wood tones are hard to replicate with CF. Still performe technically but lack soul.

Can you explain how you are muting with your left hand?
@CalebYangMusic8 ай бұрын
Like covering the strings with a gentle blanket, doesn’t need to be on any particular part of the fingers. Just make sure to not press down on a pitch, and also use several fingers so you don’t hear any possible harmonics!
