First tenor repeats over and over but it stays the same. Why not fixing nasality first of all? The third young man actually already was more advanced than the first regarding his age.

Why William Bonner? Client of a speech therapist or singing teacher who is an influential member of the Voice Foundation? I don't see any other special reason for this. Politics? He has helped a corruption government come back to power. A leftist government that support dictators and criminals that affect our security like citizens, affects our democracy and our relations with others democracies and the free world.

The first singer has a beautiful voice - he has good breath support but hasn’t learned breath control yet. Appogio. It will happen overnight. His vowels and articulation are good. I don’t know why ppl are critical- he is really good for 2 yrs learning. If it was easy everyone would sing like Pavarotti. It isn’t easy and it isn’t quick.

The baritone... Oy vey. Thomas Hamilton is only 22 here with much to learn. The voice is not particularly appealing. He may be a tenor. He sounds as if he had inhaled ether before singing. I wonder what he sounds like now. His Italian is not idiomatic. He lacks the trill for "che tu mirar mi fa." His speaking voice seems like the speaking voice of a tenor. The aria is beyond him. Zajick did her best to make improvements in several ways. Handsome young man.

Hello! I follow your channel and regularly watch your videos. Care to share why he is not a good teacher for you?
@AfroPoli9 ай бұрын
@@paulryanarcolascountertenor @paulryanarcolascountertenor Sure. And thanks for watching and following. // Based on this video: 1. He makes students who obviously are beginners (1-2 years of study) pay a lot of money to participate in a class where they don't belong; 2. He says nothing useful, quite the contrary: there is no tangible improvement; 3. He makes himself look good teaching students who know very little (fraud alert); 4. He pretends to be Italian while he really isn't (fraud alert) // Based on what I've been told by people I trust: 4. He is a cruel person who tries to hurt people when he doesn't like them. // Based on common knowledge: 5. He ruined many a singers' voice. // Yet, he successfully continues to sell his snake-oil knowledge. Where are his great students?
@o.p.94135 ай бұрын
A useless teacher?!? Come on, I love your content, but I would strongly disagree with this. Mr LiVigni is one of the few teachers in the world who is truly competent in the Italian teaching tradition, as is very clearly evident if you were to watch the countless hours of him talking about the subject. His recorded lesson on KZbin that he took with Salvatore Fisichella (who I know you know is one of the last truly great Italianate tenors in the world) is fascinating, and he still goes to Fisichella as his primary teacher. Not to mention his most recent videos on KZbin, which are pearls of wisdom in a time filled with bad vocal pedagogy. Masterclasses are inherently poor ways of teaching anything and come across as sales pitches because there is practically nothing you can actually change with a singer in such a short amount of time. If anything, you should get angry at the inherent problems with masterclasses. Either way, please do some more research on Jack LiVigni. I’m in a similar boat with you in terms of being generally disillusioned with modern voice teaching, and he is such a breath of fresh air.

Another one of these….tension for miles. Fix the jaw and tongue tension Jack! Col fiato is all I hear from everyone in this video. Sul fiato refers to a proper onset where the voice is immediate and vibrant right out of the gate with no waste of air. This means mentally directing the vowel into the body where the air is expelled in an opposing direction at onset. This requires mental preparation and coordination of your body. Col fiato is when it’s not sul fiato. In col fiato the direction of the vowel flows with the direction of the air instead of opposing it. Col fiato voices are shallow,bright, reedy and spread. There’s your free lesson.

I would urge all the arm chair voice teachers here in the comments to kindly remember that this is a learning environment. The first singer, for someone who has only been studying operatic singing for two years, is doing very well. Anyone with a voice teaching bone in their body would be able to hear a voice in there that could be capable of making great sound given more training. It takes a lot of guts to approach learning something like this as an adult and to put yourself out to be criticized by the public for simply trying to become better.

I agree. It's one thing to be critical and another thing to simply be rude.
