Thanks for your feedback! I use music and annotations to keep the focus on the visuals and make the tutorials universally accessible. However, I’m always open to suggestions-what style of tutorials do you prefer?

Ok, I'm stuck at 2:20 as well. When I try and select pixels of the ellipse, it selects the whole artboard. I made a workaround to rasterize the ellipse and select the pixels from there but did not understand your suggestion of rasterizing the square shapes to create the layer mask because it didn't appear that you rasterized your squares before adding the layer masks. When I finally got the layer mask to work, it made the mask underneath the circle instead of outside of it. Meaning, I couldn't see that it had masked out an inverted corner until I made the circle smaller to reveal the inverted corner underneath. Guessing that is a blending mode issue?

Hey there! No worries-I appreciate your patience. Let’s address your question directly: Selecting Pixels in Photoshop: To select pixels of any object in Photoshop: First, make sure you’re on the correct layer (the one containing the object you want to select). Next, hold down the Ctrl key (Cmd on Mac) and click on the layer’s thumbnail. This will load the selection of that layer. Stroke Position from Layer Styles: When applying a stroke using layer styles: Choose the “Inside” option in the position settings. This ensures that the stroke stays within the boundaries of the object, rather than extending outside. Blending Modes Clarification: The blending mode you used (for the lighting effect) doesn’t impact the main design-it’s separate. Blending modes affect how layers interact with each other, but they won’t rasterize or alter the base design. Feel free to ask if you need further clarification or have more specific questions related to your tutorial! Happy designing!
