I watched the first season of the anime back in February 2023 but never finished because of my schedules and academics. It wasn't until late July that I resumed watching it and finished. After that, I began watching the second and final season. When I finished the whole anime, I realized that this is very painful and relatable to me. I might be a lazy guy like Shinobu Morita at some point but I am more of a Yuuta Takemoto. I still listened to the ending theme songs performed by Suneohair for the anime and there are no signs of stopping on listening them. I even listened to other songs by him including "Slow Dance", the ending theme song of "Sukitte ii na yo" anime. Even though this anime was wayback in 2005 (I was 2-3 years old in that time), I watched the anime at the age of 20. Despite this anime was way many years ago, I listed it as one of my favorite anime.

I love this series, but I also hate the conflicting feelings it arises within my heart lol. I first watched it in my senior year of high school. I remember, at first, being impressed by the kindness of the characters and the resolute way in which they dealt with adversity. Today, as an adult, though, it becomes clear how I wasted my youth on futile illusions. What I believed to be fortitude of spirit was nothing more than inertia.

Those notes that start at 0:12. Whenever I hear them, the emotions from Honey and Clover rush in and hit me all at once. All the pain, all the unrequited love, and all the beauty. Several anime I've seen have such trigger songs, but I think this one is the most powerful.

Watching this show in college and understanding the complexities of maturing love, adulthood struggles and confusion, and subtle existential crises moments really makes this show hit hard. Sangatsu is my #1 anime and without a doubt Umino Chica my favorite mangaka. This show is amazing in all its own rights as well and this soundtrack is played so passionately with emotional pedaling, you can visually tell that the pianist put their whole body into playing this soundtrack during the recording session.

This anime means a lot to me. I went through a lot this year and I always come back here to remember that I need to move forward no matter what. I sympathize a lot with Takemoto especially because we have the same kind of personality and similar things that happened to him in the anime happened to me as well. Honey and Clover is very special and thanks for uploading this beautiful song.

No matter how many times I listen to every time feels like the first time I heard this tune.

Favorite anime, no matter the time that goes by, this one gets me to reflect my position in my life and how we gotta keep moving forward. Right now I’m with my brothers on Christmas Eve and despite our issues and conflict, today we are here, a rare encounter just laughing and joking around. Acting childish, the children we couldn’t really be when we were young. We have changed but never really change either around each other. I wish they knew how much I love them and think about them even if we don’t stay in contact on a day or weekly basis. Life keeps going… and despite it all. I love my family. I ranted a bit but I hope to look back and see where I’ll be a year or two from now.
