I have a small collection and we have a surprising amount of crossover! Expeditions, Orleans, Wingspan, Heat, Paint the Roses, Burgundy, and my favourite: Above and Below! Loved this list. Tempted to try to pick up mechs vs minions based on your description. Keep up the good work.

My fav game this year is definitely Marvel Champions! Such a fun card game both solo and multiplayer! Have you ever tried it?

Fliptown seems like the same design concept as Pioneer Rails. I wonder which one came first? They both came out in 2023. Have you tried Pioneer Rails - if so which one is better would you say?

It's always wonderful to see videos like this, and I'm constantly blown away by the depth and variety of solo games in the world now. This was an awesome list, and had a lot of my favourites in there, but there were also far more that I have not played, and quite a number that I had not even heard of! Anyone's list will usually show their preference as to the type of game they like to play, and yours does most certainly do that. You did have a number of card-driven games, but most of them seem to be story-based, so it didn't surprise me that you didn't include FOR NORTHWOOD, as it is a trick-taking game, which it seemed to not be something you go for. It is definitely one of my favourites though. Another one I was surprised you omitted, especially since you included Cascadia (one of my all-time favourites), was HARMONIES. This is a relatively new game, and you may not have played it yet (or much), but I would encourage you to try it - it's pretty wonderful. Thanks for your list Sir Thecos, as it is always a pleasure watching your videos....

Great list! Subscribed. It has been a while since I added 7-8 games to my wishlist from a single video. Glad to see Skoventyr, Bullet, and Ragemore in the list, all gems. We would have plenty of crossovers. 10 games I would add in my favourite solo would be: Mage knight, Shadowrun crossfire, Legacy of Yu, Regicide, Hoplomachus, 20 Strong, Baseball Highlights 2045, Death Angel Space Hulk, Oathsworn, and Robinson crusoe.

I didn't realize living forest had solo. I've been wanting to play that one for a while but haven't. I'm sure you can guess my #1 favorite solo (I'm very biased) 😆😆 Sprawlopolis is probably my favorite button shy. Zombiecide: Gear Up is great solo with fun polyimino gameplay. Let's go to Japan is fun solo. (I don't run the AI. I just try to see how high I can score) I like viticulture and wingspan from Stonemaeir.

Might not be your Jam but I love Final Girl as my top solo game. I have the first 2 seasons and it's great with a decent amount of modularity between vignettes, and just the right amount of setup and teardown to not be cumbersome.

My favourite solo game is Pax Pamir 2e, followed by Maracaibo. I also really like Mage Knight, Legacy of Yu and Nemo's War

I've really enjoyed Slay the Spire too - because of it, I've been playing a lot more of the video game recently too.

Really love Summit from Inside Up as a solo game. Resist and Witchcraft are phenomenal too, from Salt and Pepper/25th Century.

I’m curious about Skyteam solo… It’s been a year since I started board games and my favorites are Arkham Horror the card game, Final Girl, Dune Imperium, Wingspan, Terraforming Mars, but also Obsession, Cascadia and For Northwood. I also started Robinson Crusoe, Pax Pamir, Scythe and a few more.

Great list! I really enjoyed the video 😊 I would like to mention some games that doesn't appear in the video but are in my solo faves list: Calico, Café, Crystallo, and Supermarché. I know you already know the first two (there are videos on the channel) but I'm not sure about the other two, I would like to recommend them and specially because they are completely free and available for print and play in the BGG, which is why I was attracted to them in the first place. Chip Theory Games are very high for me in terms of solo-play, burncycle probably being my favorite one followed by Cloudspire, Hoplomachus Victorum and Too Many Bones. 20 Strong also is great if I want a quicker, less rule-heavy game on the table. Curious to hear if you're just not into CTG-games or if there is a specific reason on why they are not showing up on your Top50 ;)

The Loop, Set a Watch and Cyberion for me but there are a few new ones you've got me intrigued by (Mycellia and Living Forest)

I gotta say, I backed the special edition for Castles of Burgundy, and ended up not liking the game at all. My friend and I both feel it's a pretty generic euro point salad. Like the vanilla of board games (I also don't like vanilla ice cream lol). But the sundrop Castles look really nice. And it's a great game for so many people and deserves the recognition it gets. My top solo this year would be, Marvel Champions, Arkham Horror LCG, Dorfromantik, Spirit Island, Dwellings of Eldervale, Imperium (Classics, Legends & Horizons). After that, what shifted further down the list for me is Mage Knight, Zoo Tycoon the Board game, Everdell, Heroes of Might and Magic III, Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition and Clans of Caledonia. Games I got for solo play and haven't played at all or more than 2-3 times and can't rate yet would be: Oros, Nightmare Cathedral, Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion, Andromeda's Edge, Frostpunk, Daybreak, Pandemic Legacy, Canvas, Lord of the Rings the LCG, A Feast for Odin, Age of Innovation and Everdell. I'm waiting on solo rules to be released for Alpenglow. They ran behind the campaign on it. And I need to play more Skytear Horde. I don't love it as much as I hoped, but I went ahead and backed Campaigns for it. I have not played Monoliths enough to get the hang of it yet. I enjoy Wingspan and Root solo on Steam as well.

Great video, I have 10 of these, and 7 were already on my wishiist, another has now been tentatively added, and one is entirely new to me and I'm off to learn more about it. One I gave away for being too tense, and it's nowhere near the tensest game in the list !

surprised the dragons of etchinstone didn't make onto the list.. i have yet to try it though
