@@theflyingsquebber There's various versions of what happened, one thing that is certain is that Andrew's in-car footage went missing, along with some fan cam footage as well. Iam sure somebody beyond Andrew knows what really happened, he's dodged the question a few times when asked on rallying podcasts.

Such a shame this even no longer runs - its needed now more than ever as it was a great way for kids to get introduced to the sport, where they could be on a bouncy castle one moment and watch a WRC blast round the park a few moments later. We didnt know how good we had it in those days with a WRC team in Lurgan Park.....could only dream of that now!

I think the problem is people don’t like today’s cars anymore. In those days rally cars were what people could relate to.

@@patocallaghan3648 yep we have our own videos from the early 2000 and enjoy seeing it far more than the recent stuff. The days of these marathons are long gone to be replaced by sprints these days.
@arsebusquets2436Күн бұрын
No bias at all it was the best era of Irish rallying by a mile. 1999 was probably the peak, where the gap between the last of the Group A cars and the 1997/98 WRC Escorts wasn't as pronounced so that talent still played a part. By the time 2000 rolled around the technology arms race had well and truly begun, when we returned in 2002 after foot and mouth, the cars were barely out the gate at Prodrive and onto the Irish stages.
