At the time of shooting I didn’t know that that was how the home was built. I wasn’t told but after noticing in my footage I did some research.

You’re right, the glass deck railings are prob using screws, also the outlet covers might use tiny screws. But the woodwork and timber framing of the entire house is all put together using this wood joining technique. It’s still impressive.
