I think local emergency services are briefed on the use of tram lines for expediting emergency response. In a nutshell; They know what they're doing. Just as importantly; So do the tram drivers. 👍

Great observations from Home Bargains artic and white car that follows it onto the roundabout in front of a Fire Engine responding to an emergency call on blue lights and sirens, good observation and driving on there part??

You have to remember that the Fire Appliance is proceeding through a red traffic light ,which they do so at their own risk ,yes drivers on the green should be aware, i agree totally, But legally they are in the right and theres an accident the appliance driver is solely responsible ,But thankfully a lot of the time motorists are aware and will let them progress, I think its high time the law was changed to be clear and concise, An emergency vehicle with Blue lights and/or sirens going ,has priority regardless. At present the law is as clear as mud , plus you have to remember there may be traffic light cameras there also

Never mentioned a red light? I was talking about the Home Bargains artic and white car following it although having right of way at the mini roundabout with observation they both should have seen and heard the approaching Fire Engine. As regards the red traffic lights, the law changed a few years ago and now states the emergency vehicle can stop if the junction is busy then procede with caution through the lights if others give way. This changed the requirement of the police to charge the driver with going through a red light which automatically carries points on your licence. I am retired now but drove emergency vehicles in my Ambulance service career.

This is still part of the official MPS fleet, it has its own log book & you need to be an advanced driver to use it (just like back in the day)

The first pump is not carrying the main ladder. I didn't realise appliances could be operational with equipment missing and I don't understand why it would be missing.

In London they have pumps and pump ladder, P and PL..

There is no equipment missing. LFB second pumps don't carry the big ladder - if you'll look carefully the appliance is plated as A242 which makes it just the pump. The other one is A241, the pump ladder.
