Did you bring with you a spare tire ?
@RideForAdventures4 ай бұрын
@@benoittrottier I have no place to carry a spare tire. It would also have to be mounted on the rim as we have tried to take one of my tires off the rim and only wrecked it. I do have a spare on a rim at home that could be shipped. I used to worry about the tires but not so much any more. Last summer we did a 9000km trip to the Arctic Circle above Canada. On the Dempster highway (Google it). The trip included 1000 km of dirt, gravel, and extreme unpaved roads. My tires were new when I left and preformed perfectly. I do carry tire plugs, a 12 volt air pump and a can of tire inflater. 40,000 kms now and never a problem. On my second set of tires now. I ride a lot off of the pavement.

Yes with only 4.5” clearance. In most places on forestry back roads I can just rip around/drift the curves. Until it gets deeply rutted or boulders and windfall. But that’s rare where I like to go and play.

Are you not concerned about people stealing from a soft bag? Or stealing the bag it self? I'm going for my M(M) license in 5 days and I've been researching storage like crazy. I don't feel safe with soft bags\tank bags. But everyone swears by em. Also, what is your mpg\kpl for the rally? I'm looking to get one this summer and explore Canada. But I'm not sure what the fuel economy is for a Ryker. Lastly, What kinda safety gear you wear? I'm not sure if I need a motorcycle jacket\pants or not.
@RideForAdventures8 ай бұрын
No concerns. The LinQ dry bag on the very top has a lock, as does the fuel caddy. The saddle bags are under the locked fuel caddy and cannot be taken off. I take all luggage into any motels we stay at. If the fuel caddy is empty, which it mostly is I leave it locked on the bike. Traveled 8000 km to northern Canada and back last summer with no problems. I wear armoured gear that is still light and airy. Warmer gear is also armoured. Motorcycle riding boots. Very little heal and good ankle support. Rally can go up to 300 km but that’s pushing it depending on weight your carrying and how your riding as far as throttle goes.
