A small fishing kit and maybe a couple snares. Strap a poncho to the bottom and you're set.

Keep in mind this is assuming you don't have any of this stuff in your EDC - AND you actually always have your EDC on you at all times if you're away from civilization. No way to carry everything but for some lightweight things you might need in a pack that size, I'd add chapstick (also helps with fire), moleskin for blisters, and sunscreen. One of the hardest things to quickly find and create is cordage. Most uses don't need 550 cord. Look at microcord or waxed twine. Find a couple/few extra strength trash bags for a makeshift poncho, shelter, or to pack with leaves for ground insulation, as well as a bag to pack and bring back those leaves. Unless you're always going to be where you can't get lost, I'd add a signal mirror and whistle. Fatwood is great to have but keep in mind it becomes less and less fatwood and becomes just plain wood as time goes on. Get a bigger ferro rod unless this is literally only a pouch to last you a couple days to get home. That tiny thing won't last long at all. There's a weight penalty but the 6" ferro rods will last forever. Either way, you should add a tiny, lightweight striker because it is WAY better than just using the back of a knife. Also, you might want to add some kind of wetfire tinder or something similar that will light even if it's raining. Putting up a cover to start a fire is great but if everything's wet, it's a pain. A fresh fatwood piece is helpful, or a piece of birch bark. If you want to go the extra step, wrap your lighter with some hemp candle wick so it'll keep burning without emptying your lighter. if you're using this in case you are caught out for an extended period, it wouldn't hurt to toss in a few fish hooks and swivels. You don't need fishing line if you have paracord or microcord but it weighs almost nothing and is easy to wrap around something already in the pack. Currently, you have no way to feed yourself. You could also just pack some energy bars and call it good. just to get fancy, you might throw in a mylar blanket to retain some heat in addition to your tarp. Don't plan on it being a suitable blanket though.

I actually have full kit built around thd mother carrier mysdlf the ammount of stuff i have in mine is pretty ridiculous.. it carriers my heavy cover canteen and mess kit, a vargo titanium folding spork, a bushnell aaa flashlight, mini bic, nanostriker xl,and a tin of mini infernos in one side pouch. The other side pouch has a fishing kit in a tin and a spool of 125 feet of atwood microcord. The front out has an adventure medical .3 med kit, a fresnel lens, a signal mirror, a small bottle of bug spray and a victorinox huntsman. And ive rigged a marti. Knives tactical buscrafter to the molle... the only thing i dont have is food and shelter but im actually about to order the g2 roll from centerline so i can fit shelter and a few food items and the padded strap wrap so i can turn it into minimalist 3day kit

What Maxpedition pack were you using?I'm liking my new Sitka.I should do an update vid too.I like that slingshot ammo pouch.Whered you get it? You should do an over nighter in the woods vid with the edc bag.

ECI Homesteading and Outdoors I misspoke, my former bag was a 5.11 Moab. I got the slingshot ammo pouch from amazon. This bag isn't really intended for bushcraft, it's more for everyday needs, or if I'm traveling. I do however have a small knife saw and Ferro rod for those times I don't plan on going to the woods but end up on an unexpected day trip. Thanks for watching

i'll have to try to find the ammo pouch on there,thanks.Mine isn't intended for bushcraft either,but I like knowing that it will serve back up as a GHB or to get to a bug out location if I cant get to my GHB in my vehicle,or home to my BOB/a few nights in the woods...in case of zombie apocalypse,or whatever,lol.

Mine is every day needs,but I have a poncho(that could be used for shelter,and will come in handy in every day use if its raining),a sol emergency bivy,and altoids survival kit.really I think more about the blizzard of 78 or tornadoes,living in IN,than zombies,LOL.

Nearby Shades state park is BEARY worth a visit! It's a smaller park , the trails are literally water trails ankle deep in places, walking thru the water in warmer months Is enjoyable. I told Thathikingguy about Shades and he made a video!
