The 1965 Chrysler Corp 6 window sedans are, to my eyes, one of the most elegant designs ever to come out of Detroit. and I would love to see what Chip Foose or Jonathan Ward would do with one of these.

Here's a car one can enjoy looking at, a feast for the eyes, unlike some of those foreign creations where the only thing you see when looking at it from the front, is awful overbearing grillwork.

Today we showcase this stunning 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic (car #646). The new 911 Sport Classic is the second of four collector's items that Porsche has presented from its Heritage Design strategy. A total of 1,250 examples of the limited-edition model by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur revive the style of the 1960s and early 1970s. Like its immediate predecessor, the 997-based 911 Sport Classic presented in 2009, the appearance of this model is inspired by the original 911 (1964 - 1973) and in particular the 1972 911 Carrera RS 2.7. The designers were inspired by the Fashion Grey paintwork of the early Porsche 356 when choosing the exclusive paint finish for the new limited-edition model. In the interior, the iconic Pepita houndstooth pattern can be found on the door panels and seat centers, while two-tone, semi-aniline leather upholstery in Black/Classic Cognac provides an elegant contrast with the exterior color. The 3.7L twin-turbo flat-six produces 543HP and 442 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a RWD drivetrain and a 7-speed manual gearbox, it's easy to find yourself having fun when you're behind the wheel. The Sport Classic has a MSRP of $273,000

A car that doesn't need much of an introduction as many remember it from the cult-classic movie 'Back to the Future' This 1981 DeLorean is an early example of the car's limited production run. With the first production car completed on January 21, 1981, the design incorporated numerous minor revisions to the hood, wheels and interior before production ended in late December 1982, shortly after DMC filed for bankruptcy and after total production reached about 9,000 units. By 2015, an estimated 6,500 DeLoreans were still said to be on the road, despite the car having a reputation for poor build quality and an unsatisfactory driving experience. The fuel-injected 2.85L SOHC V6 PRV engine only managed an output of 130HP and 153 lb⋅ft of torque. Upon release in 1981, a DeLorean had a base MSRP of $25,000, or equivalent to $80,000 in 2022. MSRP increased in 1982 to $29,825, equivalent to $90,000 in 2022, and again in 1983 to $34,000, equivalent to $100,000 in 2022.

The Mercedes AMG GT R Pro is a more track focused variant of the AMG GT line up and based on the standard GT R. Mechanically, the GT R Pro employs the same boosted AMG V-8 (577 hp, 516 lb-ft of torque) and seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle as the regular GT R, although the car's enhanced performance necessitated tuning revisions for its active engine mounts, gearbox, and limited-slip differential. In November 2018, Mercedes-AMG conducted a test at Nürburgring Nordschleife for the new GT R Pro, and the car set a lap time of 7:04.632 minutes around the track. Making it the 8th fastest lap time for a road-legal production vehicle around the track at the time. The GT R Pro line was limited to 750 units worldwide (150 for the United States) with a starting price tag of $200,645. This specific GT R Pro goes a bit further with a Renntech tune and a few other mods to give it just a bit more of a sharper edge and potentially putting it in AMG GT Black Series territory.

Today we showcase this beautiful 1937 Ford Model 78 Deluxe aka the Woodie Wagon. Woodies were popular in the United States and were produced as variants of sedans and convertibles as well as station wagons like you see here. They were typically manufactured as third-party conversions of regular vehicles-some by large, reputable coachbuilding firms and others by local carpenters and craftsmen for individual customers. Eventually, bodies constructed entirely in steel supplanted wood construction-for reasons of strength, cost, safety, and durability. In 1937, prices for the Model 78 ranged from $585 to $860 depending on the body style chosen. The Ford Woodie was a combination of utilitarian design and high-quality lumber. Ford had acquired larger timber holdings in Iron Mountain in Northern Michigan that was originally required for framing the steel panel bodies of the Model T and Model A. Michigan's long winters produced slow-growing trees with dense rings and frequent flashes of brilliant color and unusual grain. The Iron Mountain workers took special pride in selecting the wood that made every Ford Woodie Wagon unique, with intricately-shaped pieces and brilliant colors.

Today we showcase a very special vehicle that was modified by Jeff Gagnon under the guidance of automotive artist Randy Grubb beginning in 2018. It had also featured on Jay Leno's Garage back in 2020 (Video Link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXbVdKJ6aK-cn5o ) along with a showcase at SEMA back in 2019. This VW started out in life as a simple 11-window 1959 Type 2 Bus when it was converted to a custom 20-window model with custom riveted aluminum bodywork molded over the rear section to mimic a traditional Airstream trailer and a repaint in Cumulus White and Sea Blue. The bus is now powered by a 160HP 2.5L Subaru boxer motor out of a 2000 Subaru Legacy as you will see and hear at the end of the video.

Today we showcase a very low mileage 1965 Chrysler Newport sedan. The Newport was a name used by Chrysler for both a hardtop body designation and also for its lowest priced model between 1961 and 1981. The Newport continued the tradition of a large, comfortable luxurious coupe and sedan, while offering a modestly priced product in comparison to the Chrysler New Yorker and Chrysler Imperial. The 1965 Newport was built on an all-new Chrysler C platform, shared with the 300 and New Yorker, along with the Dodge Polara and Plymouth Fury. The standard engine for the 1965 Newport was the 383 cu in. (6.3L) V8 with two-barrel carburetor pumping out around 270HP. Optionally available at extra cost was the 383 with four-barrel carburetion which produced 315HP. The standard transmission was a three-speed column shifted manual and optionally available was the three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission (featured in this specific Newport), now featuring a column-mounted shifter replacing the pushbuttons of previous years as was the changeover on all 1965 model year Chrysler Corporation cars and trucks. Prices ranged from $3,000 - $3,600 in 1965.
