If he’s not a stop gap, surely it means he’s played well enough to have forced his way past Mings and Pau? I don’t believe that will happen once they’re fit, but if he does, it means he’s been a good loan. If he doesn’t it still means we’ve been able to play Kamara in his right position and that in itself is a big bonus. Don’t really see a downside here.

The only reason why Aston Villa create so many chances is due to Watkins and Leon Bailey the only way they drive the ball up due to those two players there’s no threat on the right side of the field so people tend to double team Bailey on the right side and close the middle that’s obvious if you’re really watching the game the right side is not producing anything. They get opportunity and they haven’t provide anything. Watkins have to use his body every single game exhausting himself just to get an opportunity to break through the middle Leon Bailey always have two guys on him at all times and he’s not explosive as he used to be so the only reason why Aston Villa not playing well. they’re supposed to be a threat on the right side of the field to take pressure off Bailey. Not to mention Bailey provides a lot of assist opportunity, that players miss easy opportunity as well.

No way Watkins will leave in this window. Also I think people are overreacting over our season so far. I’m always in the watchalongs and I like a moan but the reality is this season was always going to be tough for us. 6 points from the 8 games after CL. If you add just 4 extra points from those games, which we easily would have done last season without CL then we’re sat joint 4th and everyone is saying how well the season is going. It’s fine margins. We’ve got a core of players who are basically playing 3 games over a week. It can’t be sustained. We’re not one of the huge clubs and we don’t have the financial capability to have a bench full of top talent to switch things up. The hate from certain sections of the fanbase on Emery is wild. Yes he’s not got it right this season at times but boy does that man have credit in the bank to play with. At least in my opinion.
