bro that is not caked.. that is Phase change pad it is solid in room temp and liquid above 45 celcius.. u fkd up!!! i did not need changing. it is supposed to be spreaded after being heated in pressure to form very small layer of contact filling gaps.. not stay in pad form..

Done many 100's of PTM applications as a repair store and have authentic 400X160mm sheets, yes it starts as a pad and above 45c it becomes soft and the excess material pushes away leaving a thin layer when fully cured. Genuine PTM blows away every thermal paste.

There could be a couple of reasons: 1. Is the game set to play on the GTX1660Ti or iGPU? 2. Have you turned frame gen on in game? 3. Are you playing on battery or the wall charger plugged in?

It is most likely due to your laptop thermal throttling. Check my videos on CPU & GPU undervolting and either repasting or applying PTM7950 (links in the description). Also check your fans, if they're dirty then you need to clean them.

Hi to know your RAM compatibility first download CPU-Z to know your RAM. You can check this link for 100% compatible RAM: www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/acer/predator-ph315-52 You will need to install dual channel RAM for max performance which means you will have to swap out the existing RAM with the new kit of say 16GBx2.

The vendor provided is used by a lot of youtubers but if you're still unsure you can buy from the KZbinr Linus on his LTT store where his is straight from Honeywell. The green squares are to help you guide or place the PTM but I didn't find them useful.

helios 300 had bad thermals from the beginning. that's why newer predator models come with side vents as well. used it on my hp omen 16 and during full fan it can easily maintain 80-85 C at 100+ watts of cpu power draw during stress test. previously it throttled after reaching 97 C when i ran the stress test everytime it drew that much power. it can utilize a good cooling system on a laptop. smaller laptops or the ones with only two outward fan vents will see less of a difference as they are bottleneckes by the inherent vapor chamber like in your case. i compared it with arctic mx 4 newly pasted btw. it easily reached those temperatures and got worse over time due to pump out. ptm 7950 not only works better but will be not prone to pump out in laptops like normal thermal paste so we won't need to replace it from time to time for a very long time

GP extreme and PTM 7950 are totally different materials. The PTM is phase changing and the GP are thermal pads suitable for VRAM chips. On the CPU temps will be high with the GP. It's then better you use paste like Arctic MX 4 which is readily available. Check the link in the description with moddiy they deliver worldwide, I got mine in my post office box.

Please could you answer me a question, when PTM is below 45 degrees in solid state it will maintain a similar temperature to the thermal paste you were using before? Yes at below 45 degrees the PTM will have similar temps as thermal paste in my experience with my Predator Helios laptop I get similar temps like when I apply Arctic MX 4. I also play around with clock speeds using Throttlestop to further reduce temps. Check out my video on Throttlestop in the description.

Same with me, but my application to my laptop takes a very long time and so hard because is so thin. I also applied it to the GPU and there was a slight tear (will it affect the GPU which is not exposed to my laptop's thermal or not) which caused it to not be completely flat. But overall, I use it for low daily gaming with mid end gaming being good too. No doubt and no problem with it, my GPU temp reaches a stable 68-80 when gaming and when idle it reaches the 41-46 range and for the CPU 64 when playing and 46 when idle. I applied it 1 week ago, maybe if there are significant results (really lowering the temperature) I will let you know here later

And yeah, I also undervolt my cpu and overclock gpu to reaching excellent gaming. My spec laptop is Intel Core I3-5005U with AMD R5 M430 GPU

I have the exact same laptop but with i5, only getting 45 FPS. How much of a difference is with over/under-clocking ?

As you can see from the video I'm getting over 80 fps on medium setting.

Thanks for the review! Do you undervolt your CPU & GPU ? if yes, can you drop the settings? I have the same specs as yours, but I have some issues with overheating

Yes I undervolt both my CPU and GPU. I use Throttlestop to undervolt - CPU cache and CPU core is at -147.5 mV. For the GPU I use MSI afterburner with a frequency graph of 1950Mhz.

@@ArifFidaaliThanks I'll try for the CPU. But CMIIW, for your GPU, I think the frequency of a 1660ti laptop is around 1445 base and 1590 boosted. Does that mean you're OC the GPU?

In the frequency graph it reaches 1950Mhz but in game it rarely reaches that frequency, more like 1400 - 1700 Mhz. Also the CPU is capped to 3.4 Ghz but is capable of turbo boosting to 4.5 Ghz. This is to keep temps as low as possible without compromising performance too much.

MX4 is stable for 95% of applications but not the greatest, PTM7950 vs Noctua NTH2 yeah doubt that the difference is going to be noticeable... Gonna check this soon since i got both and will try to replace NTH2 with PTM later. On a Legion5 pro 12700h rtx3070...
