I don't think this will work with a 49 year old child, as is the case with my spouse: now what?

The principles are the same - age is irrelevant when it comes to the source of an individual's pain. Adults are simply grown up children with more sophisticated (or at least hardened) ways of masking and/or numbing the pain.

Thank you for your step-by-step lesson planning guide. I teach a literacy class to education majors and this is something I can give them as a resource. So thorough and clear. Wish my college professors had tools like this available in the 70's!

I love the cereal boxes idea to hold center materials. Do they last long?

The cereal boxes were great but admittedly they fell apart throughout the year, which usually resulted in taping them back together or simply requesting more cereal boxes to be sent in. I caved in the following year and bought the plastic book bins from Lakeshore.

Based on the daily 5 reading chart, half the class selected 'read to self' and the other half selected 'listen to reading', however no one chose either writing task. Would it be more beneficial to do self reading as a whole class to avoid the five minutes of transition time at the beginning? Than have students read to someone of a similar reading ability.

Thanks for the comment. Half the class chose Read to Self because they know it's a required activity each day and we only had two Daily 5 sessions each day due to scheduling constraints (ideally, there should be 3 sessions). Since I am tracking their choices each day, I can see right away if they have been avoiding a certain activity, in which case, I would "guide" them into choosing the activity.

Thanks for the Video clip! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your thoughts. Have you tried - Trentvorty Kids Science Theorem (should be on google have a look)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for becoming an excellent parent without the hard work. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my m8 at last got excellent success with it.

This is old information NES will not allow you to use a calculator for the Praxis Exams. I tried due to a learning disability they refused to allow me to.

I wish I saw this video when I was attending grad school during 2013. I was enrolled in an early childhood ed program where I often had to write lesson plans for my classes and projects. I am also really glad you clearly identify common mistakes people make using the right language completing each section of the lesson plan template simple because of a lack of clarity. You explained necessary steps in the lesson plan writing process at a level I understand. Back then I didn;t make those connections so now I am so much more motivated. Thank you so much Professor Rand for sharing your expertise with us.
