The study is FUBAR. It was a small sample done in Columbia years ago and never followed up on. There are other ways to get up off the floor without the use of hands. This cross-legged method is a great way to injury a knee…don’t do it. I am an athlete and I know many athletes that cannot do this particular move. I also know several people in their 80s and 90s that cannot do this, but a very fit, eat great, walk every day, stay curious about life and so on. Those are the skills you should master for a better longer life. Tearing a tendon is a dumb way to predict lifespan. This was started on KZbin for clicks. Take up some basic yoga, walk and get serious about your diet. Live long and prosper.

Grand if you are reasonably healthy ...those people don't need to be told how to get up ....what about someone that can't bend their knee or knees ????

that's an interesting analogy between one's mind and a forest - if you do not have intention, a direction, your mind will turn into an overgrown forest. not sure there is scientific evidence for that, but it sounds intuitively correct.

We don't care. Most of you stink of armpits, body odor, and have a horrible bad breath. Oh yeah, we are allergic to musty body odor because it gives us headaches.

I would like to see the scientific substantiation please. I am a fraghead. I just love perfume and collect them. But I also smell the perfumes of nature like jasmin, lavender, rose, grasses etc. Especially in the spring and summer. I make my own perfumes with mostly natural essential oils. But I also wanna live a healthy life.
@leefeegreenz3 ай бұрын
Do you really need 'proof'? Just use common sense. I love frags too but I'm smart enough to realize they are toxic.
@storkonstage3 ай бұрын
@@leefeegreenz Proof is always required. Billions of people use fragrances every day. So scientific research is very important. I believe you have absolutely a good point.

The test isn't about whether you can get up and down like a baby does 😄 If you can't get up and down without pain, or because your bones are fragile, or whatever else- guess what? You're old, and your time is limited. That's the entire point. Don't cheat the test and then rationalise that you're fit as a fiddle when you don't actually do the movements. You're only kidding yourself.
@paulthesquid35954 ай бұрын
What he is explaining is that that ludicrous test is no indication of living longer or overall fittness & strength that is for 100% sure there. Being old or young is just stating the obvious i would never have been able to do that in my 20's due my body mechanics hip & ankle mobility GENETICS!!!

I couldn't do it 25 years ago and I can't do it now. I ride my bike in the Swiss mountains every day and can cycle through a thousand vertical meters including 15 percent gradients no problem but not only can I not do the sit and stand but I can't get any leverage at all. Either I am the wrong shape, my center of gravity is just too far back, or my technique is somehow wrong.
