That’s all tight and lots of new parts on mine and I still can’t sell it for $4000.

I bought a 1982 chevy g20 its Smurf blue the previous owner was paralized and his wife drove him around in it it had a v6 but he didnt think it was fast enuf so he had a shop put a 350 in it and 300 miles onto the new engine some1 ran into the dr side fender so it sat and he ended up passing away so his wife n son put it up for sale wen they used it they had a little top put on it for $3,000 so his wife could stand in it becus it had a hospital bed and a wheel chair lift in it personally i wish it didnt have the top id rather it have the original flat roof but i bought it cus new engine and it has a posi rear it has th350 trans so i bought it and welded a new fender on cus there welded on from the factory i put a new muffler n exaust pipe on it and i had to put a new headlight bezel on and 1982 musta been a 1 year only for that style headlight bezel cus it took me forever to find a set but i did in virginia at a old junkyard but i fixed it put a new water pump on engine cus from sitting it developed a small leak so i just put a new one on and thermostat i got rid of the hospital bed n wheel chair lift cus the lift was old n the wiring was rigged it went down once n got stuck i had to jiggle all the wiring around n finally got it back up so i ditched it but it runs like new the engine has maby 500 miles on it if that,,ive owned it for 1 year now n i only use it to pick up engines and stuff n i drive it to work once n a while but it really would make a good van life van. Ive been debating on selling it cus i dont drive it that much n its a shame to leave it sit thats why i drive it to work at least once a week but i have alot of projects going on and i might sell it just to fund another 67 impala i got. Anyway nice van! When they run good there cool to drive they have a captains chair not a driver seat 🇺🇲

Nice job. That’s a lot of work. I’m doing the same thing with a 58 Apache and 2005 Tahoe. I was wondering how you were going to hinge the hood? Are you planning on cutting clearance for the stock hinges? I have my videos up to where I had to do rust repair on the Tahoe firewall. Thank you.

I appreciate the content you’re posting. However, I have a couple of questions: 1) Why did you buy an additional water gauge when the factory provided you with an oil and water gauge? Wouldn’t it be easier (and cleaner looking) to reconnect the oil and water gauge in the instrument panel and get rid of the external gauges and the “electrical spaghetti” that would come with it? 2). Wouldn’t it be easier remove and replace the inline fuel filter around the frame rail on the (typically) drivers side? It has sitting for 5 years. Safe to assume that it hasn’t been replaced. Keep up the great work though. I’m enjoying what I’m seeing!

Very nice build. But, in the battery and inverter compartment you need to put a fan in one or both of those holes you drilled. Those components generate a lot of heat especially the inverter and you have to pull that heat out of there. Just having the two ventilation holes is not enough. Heat rises so, you have to draw the heat out. You have a nice setup but if you don't install those fans to pull that heat out you'll regret it and you'll be buying a new inverter. You guys did a hell of a job. The interior is excellent. Safe travels..
@thatguysgarage3235 ай бұрын
Totally get that but if anything I figured the fan on the inverter was adequate at the time. That or I completely forgot to put one in, and I did pan on putting one in there, must’ve forgot

Make sure u dont block the oil flow of that port if u do it will Starve the crank bearings there is a video on line of a guy that did it and he is telling it so others dont do that !! If you have 2 much flow to the turbo your oil psi will be low also !!
@thatguysgarage3237 ай бұрын
Yea I bought a truck once with low oil pressure and the guy said he put a high pressure oil pump on it. It ran with about 15 psi but then I looked at the little piece above the filter and he put a diy block off plate that was pretty much making it a restriction. It’s either suppose to have a cooler line or that little piece just like in the video

Good idea only thing that would be better is making the sanding surface bigger so the head can be turned sideways to get a cross hatch pattern an help get a more uniform flat surface.
@thatguysgarage3237 ай бұрын
I get that. But had to work with what I had. And I was making sure I was turning it side to side to make sure it was getting a cross hatch. May of not looked like it but I was turning it as I was going to

Take an old treadmill an electric one, get you a thick piece of flat steel the same length of the treadmill run your belt that you get made over the top of the steel and run a hose pipe over it or a garden hose with water and maybe put a little soap in it. You could use a parts washer pump and recycle the water if you wanted too it works great. just do not get carried away and cut way too much off of a head you need to mic it first. Whatever it is, you are resurfacing just make sure you do not cut too much off of it because it will do it really quick and that also depends on what grit sandpaper you are using.
