I often heard this beautiful melodious birds sound for about 2 minutes very early in the morning(between 545 and 6am)whilst cooking breakfast and fixing the kiddos lunch box...little did i know twas a magpie robin...twas too dark to step out and peer as these were winter mornings...and again in the early evenings around 645 and 7 pm i hear the same bird with a harsh scratchy call..there are 3 of them that visit the gulmohar tree in our backyard..its like they're communicating with one another..they sing sweetly in between and make that scratchy sound again before flying off to another perch...so beautiful

Your bird is Common Hawk-cuckoo. Among the birds that speak at night, apart from the owls and the Indian Thick-knee, there are two types of cuckoos which sing all through the night during the courtship period - the first of these is the Common Hawk Cuckoo and the second is the Asian Koel - the only reason for this is extreme sensuality which is reflected from late June to July in males of Asian Koel and from October to May-June in males of Common Hawk Cuckoo. Iska ek baccha andhi ke waqt niche gir gaya, rat ko maine bacche ko sadak kinare paya, abhi kuch 13 din ho gaye isko paye huye. Parmatma ka ashirvad hai, bohot sundar hai, siti bajake bulata hoon to udke mere kandhe or hath par aakar baith jata hai, pata nahi kaise isko apne bichde huye maa baap se milvaunga, vo naya ghonsala bana rahe hain usi ped par, baccha pure terah se udne layak nahin hua hai. Please suggest me. Bichde huye pakshi ke baccho ko visthapit karne ke bare mein jankari kripya dein.

इस आयु के पक्षियों के चूजों की परवरिश बेहद कठिन कार्य है - उड़ने में सक्षम होते तक इसे जीवित रख पाना भी सबसे बड़ी चुनौती है - यदि इसमें आप सफल हो जाएं तो जल्द से जल्द इसे उड़ जाने दें - निवेदन है कि किसी भी तरह इसे पालतू बनाने का प्रयास न कीजियेगा.
