They should've left him dangling until they came back from the summit and then rescue him if found still alive. Why do people without basic training and a minimum skill level are allowed to climb? Money shouldn't be everything in this and the Nepal govt should do something serious on this. There are scores of enough experienced, trained and skilled enthusiasts all over the planet who will keep the revenues coming for the govt through this business.

Risking theirs life to feed themselves and theirs families so sad angle of life
I understand that people like to climb mountains but to do so is to risk your life and put the lives of others in danger. We're going to look for something more useful to humanity!

@mjleger4555 As an acrophobic, I'd be dead of a heart attack before they could bring me up! Thank heavens for sherpas who know what they are doing in a awful situation like that. Kudus to all sherpas. Bless you all! (I've been watching segments of climbers on Mt. Everest and always wondered about that ladder over the crevasse -- now I know.)

Everest expeditions without Sherpas are ABSOLUTELY impossible, but they never get the credit they deserve!!! THEY are the critical factor! And the same applies for all the others involved in logistics (porters, cooks, medics, pilots, etc), which in another way are also essential in all the effort. It would be interesting to know how much they are paid to do such dangerous and indispensable job, is it a fair share of the earnings? And the Nepali Government? how does it spends the money collected in permits and the like? Does it benefit the local communities? perhaps in providing clean water, education or medical facilities? That is a report I would want to see! Greetings from wild, wet, windy and wonderful Western Patagonia, Chile
