Thank you for this video Kale. I’m a world away Down Under and I have an old 1996 series 1 Disco which needs the headliner replaced. It was very much worth my while to watch your video before tackling the job. Cheers . . .

You can not avoid the rust. New chassis is the only way. You used the word "cover up" that is not really fixing it. These chassis are made of butter and landrover should be ashamed of how crap they are.
@kalemullikin8 күн бұрын
Yeah they really are terrible for rust. I've done a rear frame section before and it's not too bad, but not great.

Where do the 2 nozzles under the throttle body go to? It looks like vacuum lines, mine are just disconnected
@kalemullikinАй бұрын
They actually connect to the cooling system. The one port goes to the top of the intake and the other goes all the way over to the overflow tank.

I like KINDA wanna do this to my truck, it's a 98 Sonoma but like I haven't even driven it to like an actual legit spot because I can't. It's not street legal yet but it's the 4 cylinder one with the 5 speed too. I want to do that kinda like you, have it in its stock form for many years then possibly get a second car to go around in too then do that and mod the snot out of it. Tho still keep the stick too, then do everything else too. Everyone i see just does the ls in it with the 4l80e or the 60e and then done. I prefer to keep the manual in it I do because I feel the manual is FAR more reliable despite people say "eeuuhh the clutches man eeuuhh you'll burn through clutches man you'll be doing that all the time nerrrrr durrrr". My response is well if that's your concern then you don't know how to drive stick at all if youve got that experience. You just bad at a manual then. Anyway but yeah I feel like doing that when I've had the truck for like 15 years or till the motor blows or something lol.

It was a fun truck before. Nice little one to go cruising in. Now it's even better! I highly recommend and the manual is so fun!
@photondebuger452 ай бұрын
@@kalemullikin it's actually kinda poetic how I got it because what I wanted was to learn manual, but also it be a useful vehicle to use to like carry things too. As well be fuel efficient that rare thing that this truck ticked EVERY box there. It's a 2.2 so it's good on gas in a way my dad's pt cruiser actually has a bigger engine in it. It's a manual transmission which I wanted to learn and for it to be reliable so it will always move. Also its a truck so it has an actual bed to carry things it's the SLS too so it has ac in it.

Has a $10k New holland skid steer next to it and uses a $3k Miller mig welder and not to mention the $5k car lift truck is on along with a nice diesel generator behind it and commercial sand blast cabinet against wall. My kind of garage! This guy ain't doing a budget muscle truck that's for sure but he certainly seems happy in the end unlike the lady who like 99% of women don't care about or even understand the effort and hard work building something like this. My father bought ours new in 2001 in Cardiff, Wales when I was 22. I remember saying to the salesman that the chassis (frame) doesn’t look like it has much protection on it and his words were something like this “that will last forever lad, you won’t need to worry about these rotting out” lol Our family have ben around Land Rovers all my life and I did my apprenticeship as a mechanic on them so I knew this was a potential problem!! We made a deal that if we bought it I would take it away and paint the chassis with a marine primer and then take it back to the to waxoil it for free as part of the deal…they agreed! 205,000 miles later and 23 years old my wife now drives the vehicle as her daily car and guess what…its never been welded! I also poured a few litres of dirty engine oils inside about 15 years ago and let it all run out the drainage hole which I’m sure helped.. Typical salesman, not having a bloody clue and only wants the money..

I love this era Massey-Ferguson Tractors. You should be able to find a bucket style seat for this tractor which is also correct, & I think it will give you the positions you are looking for. I have a 1959 M-F 50 gasser with that style seat, & I've seen them on early M-F 65's as well, & it looks like your's is a early M-F 65 as well, & it's the correct style seat for the early 50's, & 65's M-F's. I did the same with my 50 & put on a vertical stack, & got rid of the grass burner. & it looks better as well as sounds better; Also the new tires & rims look awesome, & yes they are a bear to take off, & put on. Thanks for the video.
