Einfach genial. Dieses Werk sollte zum Repertoire der großen Klassik-Orchester gehören. Es ist einfach nur immens kreativ und positiv stimmend, erhebend. Inspiring. 😃A work that reminds me of Richard Strauss' Alpine Symphony. I marvel at how skilfully Florence Price uses various onomatopoeic motifs, including gospel motifs. Simply brilliant. This work should be part of the repertoire of the great classical orchestras. It is simply immensely creative and positively uplifting.

The wife of my violin teacher in Victoria B.C. Canada studied with Mr. Hayes when he was in Toronto in the 1930s. She was Frances James Adaskin, an excellent Canadian singer. Her husband, Dr. Murray Adaskin, the wonderful majpr Canadian composer and violinist came to his defence when Mr. Hayes was refused a room at a hotel in Toronto in the 1930s. My teacher who was a member of the trio that performs frequently at that hotel said that he would resign if Mr. Hayes was not given a room.

Thanks to Las Vegas Classical (89.7) Station that while driving from Vegas to Pahrump I heard this incredible piece of Americana.
