Sounds like a good one to see, especially if you were left thinking about it for days afterwards. Only really thought provoking movies do that! And thanks for not spoiling it! I am going to watch it!! Keep the reviews coming!!

He is not "transformative"; that would me he transforms us. He was simply "transformed". His representation of Nosferatu is not "immaculative"; that means "clean, without stain". You mean perhaps "mpeccable" (with sin or flaw). Stick to words you know and your reviews will be easier to credit.
@desmondmyers15 күн бұрын
?? What are you on about dude? He said “immaculate” not “immaculative” “Transformative” is an adjective meaning “causes a marked change in someone or something” …like an acting performance could. Anyway great review man!

It really IS the quintessential Christmas comedy right up there with Home Alone and Christmas with the Kranks! And it really does still make me laugh some 30+ years after its debut!

Thanks for the review!! Great flick! Funny thing...I NEVER realized this took place on Xmas Eve...you are so right! Who in the hell would go to a corporate party on Xmas Eve?! Alan Rickman's Gruber is my favorite movie villain! It was also nice to see Alexander Gudonov in this. He played a good "bad guy" even though his screen time was brief. Ultimately, Bruce Willis was terrific in this. Truly great flick!!
@trevortalksmoviesАй бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! I know right?! I didn't even realize it until I heard people calling it a Christmas movie and rewatched. Ridiculous idea to have a work party the night before Christmas lol but useful as a plot device! Yes, Gudonov was really good too. I didn't mention it but all of the supporting cast was awesome. Loved Reginald VelJohnson's performance too.
@trevortalksmoviesАй бұрын
Also on Alan Rickman playing Gruber, **spoiler alert** for those who haven't seen it but Alan Rickman did the stunt fall himself at the end of the film. Supposedly fell backwards 40 feet onto a crash pad! The filmmakers made sure to have him film that scene last as you might imagine lol

Sounds like a disappointment for sure. I hear you and appreciate your desire to support independent directors and creators, but I will skip this one. Thank you for the honest review!! Look forward to your next one!!

Thank you for your comment! It wasn't the worst thing I've seen or anything like that, primarily just didn't live up to the hype I had. Definitely had room for improvement. Putting the next video out today!

Totally agree! I was so surprised by how tense it could be at times. Definitely thought it would've been a slower and dryer movie. Thanks for your comment!

Sounds like a goid one to watch!! The actors featured are all great ones as you say, so I can believe that it would be a really good to see! Also all of the rituals and odd rules that need to be followed when a pope dies is fascinating, even if I’m not religious or a Catholic! I’ve got this on my list to see once it’s streaming. Thanks again for another great review! Keep them coming! One movie I’d like to hear about is the latest Christmas movie Red One.

Definitely sounds interesting! Seems like gore is big these days so hopefully it’s not too over the top in that area. Your review does make me want to see this film! I wonder why they had to cut out a particular actress out of the whole movie! Look forward to your next review! I seem to agree with your assessments!

It had some gore but nothing too over the top I’d say. Yeah I think if you liked the first one you’d enjoy this one too!

Wow! I would never think this film had such depth, but it sounds from your review that it really does! Although I may not see it in theaters I’m sure the emotion will still come across if I watch it at home. Definitely sounds like a really good film to see! And did I see that the screenwriter won an award?
@trevortalksmoviesАй бұрын
Yes it really is very deep in a lot of ways! Definitely, if you can’t catch it in theaters this would still be a great one to stream. Correct! Jesse Eisenberg’s script won best screenwriting for a dramatic film at Sundance film festival this year!

One of my all time favs. I don’t like how scary movies nowadays overdo the jump scare and although there were some surprises, it wasn’t the typical fake out that gets played out.

Glad to hear that! Yes Sean Baker is an incredible writer/director and Mikey Madison is definitely a breakout star after this. Just a warning though, Baker’s films tend to be tragic than they are funny even if he does manage to do both!
@vladimirogarza4342 ай бұрын
I'm not familar with Sean Baker or his movies, although I only know of The Florida Project by virtue of Willem DeFoe; huge fan of his. I havent seen either of these films, but your review of Anora has piqued my interest. I want to see them both. Thanks for another great review!
@trevortalksmovies2 ай бұрын
He is a very talented writer/director and is known for his for his gorgeously shot films that usually feature down on their luck characters. Fair warning though, they’re typically not exactly uplifting movies 😅

I didn’t realize there weren’t any jump scares! Thank you for opening my eyes to that! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen this movie and I hesitate to see it again because it is so scary!! You help me see the movie in a different light though and I really do appreciate that! How about reviewing a holiday movie like Christmas Vacation or Christmas with the Kranks? I wonder what the original iconic Christmas funny movie is? And there’s a new movie coming out for the holidays called Ted One with the Rock which looks interesting and I’d be interested to hear your take on it!

I mean… I would call Jack jumping out and killing Hallorann a jumpscare.
@trevortalksmovies2 ай бұрын
@@bebopthefox2346that’s fair! I think to me that felt more like a shocking moment and less like a jump scare since you’re somewhat expecting Jack to pop out and he follows through on that expectation. True jump scares to me lull you into a false sense of relief only to scare the hell out of you 😂. Thanks for your call out!

Absolute favorite!! This scared the hell outta me when I first saw this as a kid. No jump scares as you mention, its just spooky as hell. Great cast, music, and photography... Of note are the cameos by Philip Stone who plays Delbert Grady (in that very red bathroom). You can also see him in A Clockwork Orange and Joe Turkel as Lloyd the bartender...who was in Bladerunner. Great performances by these two in two rather pivotal scenes. Awesome flick...this is a definite must-see! Great review!!
