Hollywood, junk . That did not happen as played. My uncle was an original Canadian member of the First Special Service Force.

Bobs livestream evaluation of Shotts MSR at Worlds 2024 was rather slight and amateurish . He was more interested in what a member of the audience was chewing on . I believe he may have been hungry . Sorry Bob .

The pipers are Alan Young and Warren Robinson - both were probably in the Grade One Cullybackey Pipe Band at that time. I believe Warren may now be the Pipe Major of the young Cullybackey band. Both Warren and Alan would have played in the solos at some point (probably around late 80s / early 90s) - both decent players. I played alongside Warren Robinson and Andy Scullion in Seven Towers Pipe Band around mid 1990s.

City of Angels are such a great example of how to run a pipe band - kudos to them for all they've done and how far they've come in such a short period of time. Shout out to my bandmate, Eric, for the first 6/8 march you hear in the clip - it's composed by him!

The worst part is that learning starts on day 1. If you don't hear how a practice chanter or bagpipe is meant to sound when its in tune -- the effort to learn tuning will be very difficult. You will never have that internal barometer of it not sounding "right" . The other part is about maintenance. With the lack of hemp on their instrument, this causes the instrument to be difficult. When its difficult, your body will compensate in different ways causing long term health issues with posture, jaw and so on. But, that being said -- good on you for learning something that you're interested in and is most certainly a good quality to have in life.
