Y'all are overcomplicating and overdramatizing this. I dont agree with piercing them that young, but its a short pain and then they are fine. The baby is not going to sit there and think about how she doesn't love or trust mom. In five minutes she is probably going to be crying for her next meal or playing with a new toy.
