It's weird having the passenger on the outside of the car, what if you have to drop someone off? Wouldn't they essentially have to get out of the car on a side that has oncoming traffic....that or the driver would have to exit the vehicle to allow the passenger to slide over to exit on the curb.....

Ah, we live in the UK, that's why the Caterham is RHD. The Caterham is trailered to race tracks in the UK and to Germany for the Nordschleife, Nurburgring. The Caterham is far too powerful to be manageable driven as a road car!

@@andreap1008 I watched your 2024 fastest lap - extremely impressive driving. This might sound silly coming from a stranger, but I did worry about your safety if you'd spun off or rolled. I expect your Caterham has a roll-bar, but I'd like to have seen you wearing better upper body protection or race suits since you're very exposed in your car. Stay safe and keep enjoying what you do! I have a question: I was reading the specs on the 620R and obviously the acceleration and power-to-weight are immense. I was surprised at the top speed being around the 150mph mark - is that deliberately limited? Or is it to do with the car not being especially streamlined - I imagine the drag starts to really mount up at high speeds. And I get that the Caterham's charm and appeal is it's stripped-down somewhat vintage/classic looks - as opposed to other supercars where crazy power is packed into the same kinds of glamorous but dull bullet-shaped body-shells.

The 620R is named so because it's performance equates to 620bhp per tonne, the car weighs about 520kg and so it would be expected to deliver around 310bhp our Caterham develops a little more at around 320bhp, hence topping out at 155mph. The car has a track day roll cage and we wear 4 point harnesses and helmets. We choose to wear light clothing as the weather is very warm in Germany when we visit. The car is very exhilarating and there always has to be a conscious choice and awareness of the risks when taking part in adrenaline sports. It's not for everyone. You are very correct, Pete has other, more technically advanced sports cars but he prefers the raw driving experience of the Caterham!

You know I think that I wasn't giving you guys a "telling off" - I'll leave that for your mothers! Obviously you take safety very seriously and to be fair, the Caterham looks like it's permanently glued to the tarmac - partly by design and partly by your driving skills. I'll look out for your next video - keep keeping safe :)

For folks who have never been to the Nordschleife but are planning to go, the first part of this video gives them a better understanding of the location and parking, I think it also builds the tension too! There is a note on the video description about the wind noise - which is always difficult to manage in an open top car. You can take part in an organised track day at Spa, the track is 4.3 miles long. The Nordschleife Is 12.9 miles long and on Touristenfahrten days it is 30-35 euros per lap.

@@andreap1008 Yeah, you can buy a Donkervoort D10 for around €10,000,- to €25,000,- an early D8 for €30,000,- to €55,000,- . I'm not talking late 90s early 2000s D8 or later D8 models or the F22. But plenty affordable Donkervoort cars to be had m8.

There isn't a speed limit anywhere on the track, only distance markers. Once we pass the gantry, we are slowing down towards the track exit.
