Thanks for your tips. I trace an image from my iPad, but just a thought, I flip the image first so I can transfer the traced image only once to the watercolour paper without using graphite on the back. It works for me and saves time and any possible graphite mess. Great videos, thank you.
@KristineArt5 күн бұрын
Great, yes, there are many ways of transferring. But for myself I don’t try to skip extra time with transferring because while you do that (multiple times) you get to know your subject better. Especially if it is a more complicated composition. Just a thought to consider

I love the look you get with hot press, but I find it really hard to get a smooth look. I’m new to your channel, so maybe you demonstrate your technique in a way that will help me. I got decent results with one painting, but after that I kept having problems. I’m using Arches.
@KristineArt10 күн бұрын
Thanks for this comment. Well Arches is one of the toughest papers 😅😅 I used Arches when I was just starting in 2016/2017 and after someone suggested to try something else - well, I never went back to Arches 🤯😅 Arches absorb pigment like crazy - leaving very light result Arches has a slightly “hairy” texture which also gives some problems But I know artists who are working with Arches for many many years and are super happy It is about trying until you find what works for you and your painting style
@annewatman6774 күн бұрын
@ Are you referring to Arches Hot Press? I know their cold press absorbs water and paint, but I don’t find that to be true of their hot press. Which hot press is your favorite? Thanks.

That’s a beautiful art journal! I have been painting for more than a year but I haven’t been brave enough to use my watercolor journal. I have so many of them but they are blank. This gives me some idea. I think I need to be braver in 2025 and one of my goal is to complete a watercolor journal ! Thank you for this video!

Beautiful. I like both but I have to say the single peony really pops out 😅and less is more in this case. In almost every case really. Beautiful colour. Keep going. Loving it. God bless. Susan ❤❤❤❤❤

Wonderful Kristina. One question.How to get the light yellow on top of the green heart? Thank you fpr this tutorial. Instead of transparent yellow can I use just a tiny bit of yellow? Rien
@KristineArtАй бұрын
To get any pigment light and travsparent it should ve diluted with water. Then any pigment will have a very light touch. And yes, you can use different yellow pigment
