Coleman fails to consider the effects of racial prejudice on those individuals in various racial classes. The disadvantages of racism is often midigated by the privilege gain from class. Coleman cannot explain why racial disparity still exist even with affirmative action program of the past. He seems to put the burden on those who are affected by it the most.

Guess how most people that work in wildlife preservation became interested in the first place? Through experiencing them and their majesty first-hand as children in zoos and circuses... Way to be praising the worst human rights offender -China. Guess what always precedes government oppression? Disarmament. This is all typical leftist "progressivism:" Patting yourselves on the back for a perceived step forward meanwhile ignoring the long term regression. I know you have good intentions, but lets try to be a bit more introspective about whether we actually comprehend each other's point of view. From every study ever shown, the right can always articulate their interlocutor's point of view better than the left. Open minded? Unlikely.

@@RK-wb7ckFor lung cancer that kills 90% of people who have it within 2 years? Compared to chemo? Radiotherapy? Side effects lower than near instant death would be perfectly acceptable.

I'm impressed and encouraged by The Progress Network Content in general, so far, as rare substantive, contextually more thorough data centric journalism, that doesn't filter for negative sensationalism, as opposed to the shallow, vacuous, opinion centric and emotionalist journalism of the vast majority of media. This piece however, (for the 3/4 I listened too), focused entirely on opinion, perceptions, political campaign strategy, and public opinion, while entirely ignoring policy/positions, falls into the latter category. I'm hoping it's an outlier, as I was excited to add this new source to a very limited set of rationally informative sources.

Good overview of potential risks and benefits of genetic tech. What an amazing/exciting time to be alive. Innovation is the key to human flourishing. As w/ most all advancements, there are positive/negative tradeoffs and risks. We must evaluate both the best we can, and be willing to accept some degree of risk. To focus exclusively on, and avoid all risk, as many do, is to stagnate and die as a species. Utilization of the mind towards Innovation/creativity/advancement is the unique and fundamental superpower and driving need of the human animal. Thank goodness there wasn't an effectively influentual Greenpeace or Vandana Shiva or such when fire was first harnessed or we might still be living in caves. Hopefully humans will eventually learn to overcome the more simplistic primitive evaluative tools of emotionalism/intuition in the evolutionarily new/complex world we are building around us that requires the correspondingly more complex tool of rationality.

Liking this channel! Good focus on information / data, in contrast to the more typical plethora of sensationalist and shallow opinion regurgitation that masquerades as journalism. Keep up the great work. Hopefully the channel will find an audience interested in information instead of emotional sensory gratification.

I live in Philadelphia and work in one of the busiest ER Crisis Response Centers in North Philadelphia as an addiction Specialist working with those in need of treatment. While overdoses may have decreased, there has been a rise in complex adverse effects from Xylazine, including an increase in wounds and deaths related to poisoning.

Obviously there are a few exceptions but poker players are some of the most polite competitors you’ll see. Something about there being money on the line makes it less personal.
@redbeard36

Con artists are trying to take advantage of unwitting people. Poker players are playing a game with willing participants. The game does allow and sometimes require bluffing and deception but it's all for the purpose of winning. Now if the poker player is literally cheating that's something else again.

It's like calling a boxer a con artist because he trains and keeps himself in shape.
@OMGclueless

"No overlap"? I beg to differ, the winningest poker players are great con artists! It's just that the con isn't bluffing someone in the game, it's in convincing someone to sit down and stake their money in a game they are worse than their opponent at.
@redbeard36
@redbeard36 Ай бұрын
A con is a crime that one person doesn't agree to. Presumably everyone in a poker game is a willing participant. If they're skill doesn't match someone else that's just part of the game.

They can uphold the ban all they want.... But are they enforcing it? A law is meaningless if it's not enforced.
@TheProgressNetwork
@TheProgressNetwork Ай бұрын
Absolutely. They had just prosecuted people under the law for the first time before conversations started to repeal the ban. (That was the catalyst.) So we'll have to see what happens now and whether numbers start going down. generally speaking attitudes are changing, though.
