The New York accent sounds like a mobster talking. Hahaha. European Romance language speakers speaking English, that perhaps made the peculiar accent (Italian mostly). Fran Drescher speaks the same in The Nanny.

Fun fact: Less than 1/3 of US American adults own guns. Most gun owners own multiple guns, which inflates the average. Also, people don't just flash their guns IRL. Like a lot of bad behavior, it's way more common online. In fact, in most jurisdictions, it's illegal to "brandish" a firearm, which has various meanings depending on where you are.

A very clear explanation, so I downloaded a version that would be compatible with my older iMac 10.13..). When I tried to type on the manual cards, it soon showed nothing as I typed. Disappointing app

I really appreciate you making this video!! 🙏🏻There are many videos out there teaching about what to answer to a question, but this is what I really need! It's so embarrassing and awkward to get stuck in conversations not knowing what to respond in English when people just tell you something. Like, I do care and do pay attention, I just don't know what words English speaking people use to respond.😭

Great vídeo. I grew up in Canada and accent I Canada, specially Ontario, is very similar to standard American accent. I undeestood all accent, ecxept for the Hawaiaan accent, don't think I have ever met someone speaking like that. But lots of British accents are really hard for us to understand. I remember watching Game of Thrones and having to turn subtitles on.

Great video. I have listened to your podcast (as I am about to comment on it..focus on the present) (and I should add be-ing..as this is still ongoing!) or I listened to your podcast (I feel this could even be uttered by a native speaker (a hardly audible 've that has been erased almost) Anyways... I love your input- check- input approach. I have been teaching English through conversation for the last 20 years with timeouts during the 90-minute workshop to reflect on structures as they come up in the conversation. English is a fast evolving language with world-wide input, it seems rules are constantly being bent and altered ... and that feels okay as long as there is no risk of misunderstanding and confusion. That's what I focus on with my mostly French native learners so that they can feel comfortable to talk and make mistakes. However, nuances make a language all the more powerful in expressing our reality and emotions of course. That's what grammar is ultimately about. It's refreshing to come across your approach on real English with its focus on diversity. I would very much to pick your brain about different topics. Is there a way of booking a lesson with you to have a conversation?

Hello! Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you like my content. I don't teach these days so I am afraid there isn't any way to book lessons but if you have any topic requests for videos or podcasts, just let me know!

12:58 “you’re welcome honey bun …” “Eggplant rollatini with Kirkland marinara sauce” It’s the accent used in the Fargo tv series. “Minnesota nice” or something.
