I haven’t been able to stomach potentially selling hides I have skinned. I have some goat and deer pelts, and if I take a coyote first thing I’ll try and do with it is get it made, or make it into a mountain man style hat, legs and all 😅

I'm searching for a DIY version of this as I have plenty of tanks, pumps & etc. Want to make a "beefier" version. Any links are appreciated. I see a lot of Direct Injection under "power washing" but pesticide mixing needs to be dose adjustable & all viton due to harshness on materials

Have you ever slept “under” that blanket? I’m trying to find some comments on if its nicer than a feather comforter or not. Now that my feather duvet is due to be replaced, I was thinking about buying a sheepskin blanket instead, but wondering if it’ll be too hot and/or too heavy. For those hotter nights, i figured using it wool side up would be a bit cooler too. Anyone able to comment?

I sleep under fur most of the time and love it. It does depend on the backing, fleece vs cotton etc but I find that it is warm and breathes really well

I've been preaching for years of the benefits of short chains. I trapped the Adirondacks for 30 years and never used more than what came with the trap. As coyote are the smartest animal there most of my sets were for them. If your chain/wire/whatever is 3 foot long the critter can run 6 feet and develop enough speed to pull out. Obviously that has a good chance of happening when you approach, and I've heard of that. Given todays fur prices, I'm glad I quit when I did. Good Luck!!

Hope all is well. Been missing your videos. I sold my coyotes thus year green for $5 a piece, coon $1.59 each was very discouraging. Luckily my cats did well and I made back some gas and bait money. Anyway, hope all is well out that way.

Good catch there! I was planning on setting a new place. But with all that rain we just got. Now with all the cold weather. Going to way on predator trapping. And set for otters and beaver.

I don't have anything in the ground right now either, just to hard to keep things working and to hard on your body to reset and put in sets in this cold

Thanks for taking the time in your videos to explain why you're making sets. I've seen enough videos of people making sets. As a fairly new trapper, I like the explanations of why and then just show me the completed set. Great video. Good luck.
@trappingtheozarks23 Жыл бұрын
That is exactly why I do my videos the way I do. Bedding a trap is bedding a trap, sifting dirt is sifting dirt. To me the why, the location, the micro location was way more important to figure out and honestly I am still trying lol

Does the trap break the dogs leg ?
@trappingtheozarks23 Жыл бұрын
Are you asking a serious question? Of course it does not, would not break my fingers either, it’s like putting a handcuff on a person, that’s why you see me release some animals and they just run off in harmed. My trapping dog Athena was caught in a trap, that’s how I got her

As a tailor and a trapper, I'm wondering what pattern they use to make the blanket. I'm assuming its as simple as a long rectangle shape that comes out of the top side of the hides. The bellies aren't good for anything really. And all the yotes had better be at least of a certain size. But whew, if you had to pay to get all those tanned AND have the blanket made, the price would probably be more than just buying a fur blanket somewhere new.
@trappingtheozarks23 Жыл бұрын
Coyote fur blankets sell from 1500 to 2000 depending on the size, so this is much, much cheaper.
