i used to live in colorado (northglenn) and i was over in boulder delivering a custom computer to a family. i parked on the street and a deer came up behind me within about 5 feet. it just stood there watching what i was doing seemingly very interested in what ever this weird human behavior was. i took the box to the front door and a couple of other deer walked up too. i talked to the woman who answered the door and said something about how it seemed odd that they were all so friendly and she said "wait, wait here and you can feed them." :O she left and came back with apple slices and handed them to me. the deer knew what i had and just casually walked over and i reached out with a slice, it took it and just stood there munching away. other deer saw and walked over too, so i feed 4-5 of them. the woman had some stuff that looked like home made granola and they ate out of her hand and licked her arm. there's a spot in Estes Park, CO where the elk come hang out at. do not try to walk up to pet them LOL. they tolerate people pretty well and don't mind pictures and staring. but they can be really dangerous! i don't recall where it was but there's a small neighborhood where you can sit and the elk will come up to you for neck scratches. but even the locals will warn you not to reach out to them till they make it clear it's ok to touch them.

Spend some time researching the predation statistics on upland game birds ( quail, pheasants and grouse) by house cats (feral and domestic). Allowing your cat to wander in the forest is irresponsible!

Deer, like cattle, are ruminants and have multiple stomachs from which they regurgitate a cud of food to chew between passage to various stomachs.

Turkey migration is slow work 😅

Is that the country? Houses on 100 x 200? And a sense of safety, unlike in the country, mountain lions, bear, coyotes, and elsewhere, puma. Vultures, hawks, roadrunners, and the unstoppable mice and rats, copperheads in one area, rattlers in the west. Your cat or small dog has no chance in the country. You're sweet as pie; but out in the country everything is fair game.

When you call "here kitty kitty kitty" very fast, it resembles a turkey call, so those turkeys probably think it's a turkey call for them. 😂
