Just won a Theodora religious game on immortal. I was beelining the culture tree and by the end I had around 1000 faith per turn. Really strong civ, fun to play as well. Had more heavy cav units than I could ever use them.

I love how wacky of playstyle you get with scotland if you fully commit to their kit. I thought the idea of a highlander unit was really cool so I went all out and made an army of scouts early in the game and worked to get them all at least one promotion. Then later on I built the Forbidden Palace to give them all another promotion. By the time they were able to upgrade to highlanders they could already move after attacking and some had what you really want which is +20 combat strength. And since you're playing scotland and making absurd science per turn, not long after that, they can get upgraded again to Spec Ops. Now you can parachute your way to one of the most unusual domination victories in the game while your populace gets piss drunk, plays golf, and wins the space race.

Chandragupta defeated Satraps of Alexander and Seleucus Nicator and even married his daughter. He was a Giga Chad in real life 😂

Is flipping City States only possible with this lady? It was funny getting a city state to flip, I’m wondering if it’s possible to flip with a different civ if I get a full surround.. Or do City States have increased loyalty flip resistance

Can you manipulate the AI to love Culture by making Culture Alliance with them? I noticed after I flipped, they went for science, but I also remembered I had Science Alliance with them at some point.

Thanks for the guide, just finished a game where I flipped all of Hungary’s cities after 3 failed attempts hahaha Won Culture Victory after the last City Flipped lmao 😂 Was fun doing war with City States to grab more cities while I wait for my Forward Theatre Squares to finish their Art Museums and pump out Artists lol It feels good getting a surround on their after they forward settled on me 😂 It feels like the hard part is getting the balance between Theatre Squares and Commercial Hubs rush right. Too late Threatre Squares mean the enemy can go too tall and the Artifacts are too slow by then. Slow Hubs mean less purchasing of Theatre Upgrades.. I can’t win above Emperor because of this lol

Map dependant is the curse. It's all fun until you're being attacked early on by a neighbor while you're too busy scouting for trade routes. Also settling next to you while barbs keep you busy at sea. At that point everyone is way ahead of you so you're the richest idiot in the game lol

I'm researching the Civilizations Expanded mod, and although I haven't played a game with it I'm excited to try Lincoln out with it (if I'm not all dominationed out, at least). - Lincoln gets +3 CS for each unused movement on all of his units - American units get extra sight and ignore all terrain and features (even rivers!) outside American territory, for crazy scouting potential - The capital and new cities on the capital's continent get a new builder and melee unit - Tiles can be purchased for -50% Gold

Samaria is great early on for me. Spam the war donkeys and kill off a city or 2 early. Spam ziggurats for early science, then replace them as soon as it makes sense. Then we are off to the nuke race

You made the right choice with desert folklore. I will continue to watch your series. When you can't produce with actual production, having two forms of currency with faith and gold is powerful. Not to mention you can get your faith turned into production.

Can imagine online play is rough when they storm back and take a city you have just dumped artworks into to spread further.

What happens when my hoards of Nubian archers come swarming across the sea into Germany? This is only my second run into Civ 6, though I played orig Civ 30 years ago, I just got this recently. Nice vid! Gorgo Hoplites are my favorite unit. +3 natural bonus for being unique, +10 for being next to another hoplite, +4 from oligarchy, +4 for 4 military policies under oligarchy (with 2 wildcards). Combined with conscription they have literally no upkeep. If your opponents neglect to build ancient walls early, you can literally walk in with no siege tech and take their city in like 2 turns. And watching them stab a unit and fling them over their head never gets old.

Since guides usually have immediate utility, I’d recommend putting your channel housekeeping at the end to make for a smoother watch. Love this guide, very helpful and I hope you’re doing better!

I really like playing Tokugawa. I spam commercial hubs in all my cities for the trade routes and harbors with elves of minerva for another one. I use Magnus and the Government Plaza for extra yields in my capital and great districs (+4 campus / theatre square minimun in all cities) I really recommend it for begginers and I'm glad you liked it!

I think that the play with tokugawa is really to get a commercial hub as your first district in every city (Or harbor if you are coastal) and to get a government plaza and diplomatic quarter in your capital. This would make your domestic routes to your capital INSANE which supplements the need for early campuses or theater squares. Simply bandwagon off of the science and culture from trade routes through the early game and then once your cities have high population (helped by the high food domestic trade routes) You begin to place industrial zones and campuses. Specifically for a scientific victory, Tokugawa is AN EXCELLENT civ.

I agree with you but theodora is also mostly a domination civ. You would want crusade and work ethic for her(personally crusade is much better). Taxis is a in insane war ability with free spread-crazy synergy with crusade and extra combat strength. All basil does is providing a better knight, a mediocre at best in terms of unique unit but carried by byzantium, and big enabler with wall crushing making him the better theodora. Without basil, taxis is still crazy, same for hippodrome. Free units arent useless for theodora! Knights will cost more than a half district and theodora gets massive domination incentive. Same for cuirassiers and tanks, hugely aggressive kit.😅 9/10 for domination imo if basil was 10/10

Love the varu! Such a strong early game unit. I personally think your decision to stay with your gut and go to war was the right play, can always expand and pivot after an enemy or two is gone and you've got all that extra land.
