Awesome video with perfect instructions. Love that there is a big difference in sound. So glad to see the size comparison at the end. I have some 6.5 phillips that have been collecting dust in the garage that I never got the motivation to put into my fusion. I think Ill use those and save money on going with new speakers. I want to swap the stock subwoofer with a kicker as well. Buckle up buttercup did a good video on that swap. Cant wait for my 2024 to come in. I did all 4 speaker on my 22 base before it was totaled (I was not at fault) after only 5 months :(

Nice trail ride, and another quality video. I think PopoPatty scouted this trail recently. Looks a bit challenging where the culvert was washed out. That SNAP when the F150 broke its axel was brutal. I winced. Every ride has the potential for disaster, but no risk no reward, right?
@calgecko Жыл бұрын
thanks amigo - you nailed it! Yep, @popo_patty scoped out the trail with several others from our group the Thursday night before Father's Day, and yeah, that washout required a pretty specific line to get through, but we had some good coaching from our trail leaders :) and yeah, that snap was rough.

After installation what was your opinion of the product? Did it stay snug on the road? Any "flapping"? Durability?
@calgecko Жыл бұрын
good question! I've had it on for a while now - no flapping, but one of the velcro straps wasn't staying secured, but I just needed to loosen the one on the other side of the roof, to give me a little more slack on the one that was coming loose, then re-fastened both of them - no issues. it helps a lot with keeping sun exposure minimized while still getting the open-air experience

Enjoyed the video big time, Mark. Well-done! It's great that you championed the cause of keeping the trails tidy for others to enjoy. It's a shame some don't have the same respect for nature and others, but that's to be expected. You set a good example and you're better for it. I am curious about some of the Bronco owners who removed their fender flares. Did it help? A friend told me that everyone with his group recently removed their flares and found it beneficial. I suppose it gave them more of a feel for the trail and kept the flares from getting damaged. At the moment, I'm more of the mind that the flares help protect the body, and should remain intact, but to each their own. I have yet to see the advantage of removing them. What did you air down to for this run?
@calgecko Жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris!! We've got an amazing group of people in this club! Yeah, I think for some areas, not having the fender flares on helps, when going through tight obstacles, it eliminates the risk of the flares making contact, and instead makes the tire the point of contact. I kept mine on and one did get a little scuffed up a bit, but not too bad. I aired down to 15 psi for this trial, which was perfect. I'm definitely glad I've got skid plates though LOL
@BuckingBronco Жыл бұрын
@@calgecko Cool, thanks. I did cringe a little hearing your Bronco contacting rock, but you should be grateful your bash plates absorbed the impacts, preserving your vital parts. Had you disconnected your sway bar? Any water intrusion during those river runs?

@Passion4Stuff Жыл бұрын
I just did the install with 6.75 in the Mabett. Fits perfect. However, I’m assuming you are working with a soft top. It’s impossible to remove and install the Mabett without releasing the rear hard top panel, which means removing the front and mid panels. It’s possible to remove the stock pods, but very difficult. Impossible to install the Mabett pods unless you go in through the top.

Great video. I've been thinking of getting some bigger speakers for the back of my bronco because even the B&O lacks decent sound back there. What sound system do you have? I wonder if the kicker speakers will still sound better than the B&O. Also, did you consider adding batting to the box along with the acoustic matting?
@calgecko Жыл бұрын
thanks - I also have the B&O system - the stock speakers are garbage, this is a huge improvement. I did put some sound deadening mat inside the pods, didn't think about poly fill though.. probably couldn't hurt!
@fretless05 Жыл бұрын
