I know that at least one Norwegian WW2 radio agent used reflectors to successfully confuse German direction finding. It would be intersting to know to what degree the antennae mentioned will reflect radio energy.

Fascinating bit of history. My father (Douglas Mayer) worked on Moonshine at TRE, and in fact flew with the gear on the first live test over the Channel. Alas, I didn't learn much of his involvement until after his death (in 1976).

Why is cognitive radar a topic of debate?
@UCLRadarGroup Жыл бұрын
Because the definition has some ambiguity. When does a sensor achieve cognition? And when it is simply adaptive but not Cognitive. This paper discusses this in more detail: ietresearch.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1049/iet-rsn.2018.5280

I agree with you here. The marketing vibe of the term "cognitive radar" is undeniable. I would have called it adaptive sensing, or something more "classic".@@UCLRadarGroup

I went to sixth form with Nial. The KZbin algorithm just served this up. Still watching the Simpsons on Tuesdays?
