Yes there's. Hawk mountain. It's like way out there from Kutztown to Hamburge to alburn. Omost like going to the Jim Thorpe area from Kutztown. Pa. But maybe the same distance. Where I was is on 3 or 400 arcers of land. Gosh it's a drive a distance. No way could that work if you work in Kutztown and live in the back area in alburn. Only if your getting paied

How far from Hamburge to alburn this township. How far the bank and post office where's the nearest grocery store besides Walmart out where Cabela's sport store. And like cracker barrel and Starbucks and rustel stovers candy's and Wendy's and pet store and I think taco bell. All that area. Up on and around the hill. McDonald's. How about the drugstore.

There is a small grocery store outside of town. There was a sub shop (Tooters) in the back just before you go down the hill.

Will try, I flew a few times in the middle of town, I don't think it was that far over though. Great video been about 20 years since I've been there mom grew up on upper Railroad st dad on Railroad st or lower Railroad st is what my dad called it mom also worked for Tony's lunch

Not many jobs here, mostly coal mining jobs back in the day. Now, not many businesses in town. No hay muchos empleos aquí, en su mayoría trabajos en la minería del carbón en el pasado. Ahora, no hay muchos negocios en la ciudad.

Hi Skook! I just watched your Girardville east video and it was fantastic! I really enjoyed it even if I don't recognize a lot of it anymore. Also, I want to thank you for emailing me to let me know about the Cardinal Brennan video. That was a treat. It used to be known as "the academy" because in the thirties or forties it was a private boarding school for girls run by the IHM nuns, if I remember correctly. At one point, about twenty years ago, my younger brother enquired about purchasing the school with the same idea in mind. The church wouldn't sell it to him. Keep up the great work!

This view was very interesting! The school looks very modern and well kept. Both my younger brothers graduated from the Academy in the seventies, If I remember correctly, the Academy is just up the road from this school (if it is still standing !?!) I went to Fountain Springs Elementary School in the fifties. I have not been back much since the eighties and it is amazing how things have changed and grown. Thank you for filming this. Keep up the great work! I will watch the Shamokin video next.

Thanks for doing this! I haven't been back since 1995, when I buried my mother. I've watched all your videos and I have shared them with my cousin...who used to live on Main Street...several doors down from the old McDonald's Funeral home. If you get time and feel like videoing again could you please film the "high road." I used to live on West Mahanoy Avenue...the house has been torn down but I;m very curious to see if the pine tree my mom planted the year I was born is still standing. Your videos on Ashland were outstanding. It was interesting to see the old football field where my brother played for the Academy in the seventies. If you could film Spring Crest (where the Academy is located) that would be a treat. Again, thanks for all your cinematic work. Marcia
