I saw your reaction to Mark Larkam’s explanation of the course, and your response to each challenge throughout was fun to watch - you have a true passion for motor racing. BTW not all Aussies are wankers and have a go at people who don’t know the ins and outs of a sport when just getting into it - glad to see you enjoy it and tell them to pull their head in.

When Brock raced that A9X in 79 at Bathurst it ran a much taller 2.6:1 diff ratio than what is in the car in this comparison, Brock also started the race with a standard starting lap that was also somewhere in the vicinity of 14 seconds faster than this lap, at this point in his racing career he was retired, this was all put together for TV, all weekend they played around with car start spacing to make it look as though the road car SS is quicker than a Group C A9X Torana that was well undergeared for the track in this clip, in reality Skaif would still have won but would never have passed the torana at that speed down conrod straight.

Bathurst is West of Sydney New South Wales, yes you can drive the course in a rental, tv does not show the elevation changes at all, its really steep. Yes you can prospect for gold quite close to Bathurst and Aussie pubs are all good
