I’m currently on my second year on being a caretaker at my county park and everything you’ve said is 100% what I think after going through my first year! My campground has about 55 sites and I do it all myself with the mowing, cleaning, beach grading, bathrooms, reservations, wood delivery, etc. I absolutely love it with the good/bad things about it! I can’t wait to sign another 2 year contract after my first one is up!!

never used a butcher. You never know if you’re getting just your game back I have seen people up here with their tents, letting a deer hang in a tree during 70° weather for a week

@@Bryon630 my wife and I have been processing our game for years and everyone says our venison is excellent. I have a dedicated refrigerator that I put the meat in and age it anywhere from 10 to 14 days max no gaming flavor nice and tender. Drives me crazy when people do not take care of their meat. I’ve seen bear hunters in late August with no coolers with a bear in the back driving down dusty dirty roads, and they said they were at least two hours from home and it’s 85°. Just don’t get it.!
@Bryon63021 күн бұрын
Exactly and you don’t know if you’re getting some of that guy‘s hamburger mixed in with yours I used to take mine to the butcher with my buddy Work there, but he would do all mine after hours because he said that they mix the hamburger altogether and do it in one big batch so they don’t have to clean up Which is horrible I take care of my meat. Unlike some hunters I have been doing it myself since the late 70s

Nice. Now IF I built a cold northern off-grid cabin, I would have an enclosed entryway to front door to stop the cold air from coming directly into the cabin ! Seems like common sense !!! Very few YTubers cold northern off-grid do this.

We did the same thing with our cabin. Built it, and even today we are still working on getting the finishing done inside. We built the sheds, the wood sheds, and carport too. We do not use power from the power grid. We have some solar things, but our power is generated power. We also just built a front porch, enclosed, last summer. It keeps us young..hahaha. Not! lol. Your place is coming together and looks so homey inside. Love it.

Have met some really great camp hosts, and a couple of losers. Great host at a Salem, Oregon area campground, a really nice lady at a campground on the Rogue River, the sane camp hosts at a Trask River campground have been there year after year, they are super nice. Went to Crane Prairie Reservoir in southern Oregon. Pretty sure camphost pocketed the "extra vehicle" fee. She offered no receipt and was overly anxious to go as soon as we paid. Same campground the next year, I accidently drove the wrong way down a one way (area was big and pretty confusing) and when the camphost saw me he went absolutely ballistic, screaming expletives, and then I hear the wife jump in screaming. There was literally no one moving in the campground as it was almost empty being late September. I was so frazzled. But, they said absolutely nothing to the people across the reservoir who blasted their music all dang day until after 10:00pm. They were at the boat ramp so NOBODY could avoid the music and the drunken hoochies they brought with them. Our friends left a day early because of these idiots, we were able to salvage the very last day of our trip when they finally left. And they left the campsite wrecked.
