Hello, Todd, I'm in Northern England. If you are flying under cruise control, say in a basic straight horizontal line, and you pull back on the right control, to move backwards for a second or so, when you let go of the right control, the original forward flight, under Cruise control will resume.

If you don't press your cruise control button to update the cruise control settings while holding the control stick back, yes this is what would happen.

Have you ever tried a Tripltek tablet. I have heard they are not susceptible to dimming in the heat like the iPads are.

I've heard of them. Very bright screen. I don't have one but I'd like to try one for this very purpose. Phone and tablet screens can be really difficult to see in direct sunlight. This is true for the controllers with the screen built in as well. If I ever get my hands on one of these Tripltek tablets I'll review it for sure.

I liked the idea of the x1 but for the price for specs I wasnt impressed, now the Pro and Pro Max i might jump, time to start saving my money im sure it will release at $600-$800.

Yup, the price is gonna be the real factor here, as well as the price of the competing DJI Neo.

So, I think for them to be competitive with the Neo they need to have close to the same flight time as the Neo, and I really think they are going to have to come up with some sort of FPV goggles. The Neo will have the Goggles 3 and looks like a cheaper pair available for the Neo. Just my opinion but they come up with some good quality goggles I would be interested!

What will be the distance it can fly and what is its wind resistance rating? The pro max better have close to the Neo’s fly time or people will jump on the Neo’s bandwagon!

Wind resistance rating is 5, and they said about 16 mins on a battery. As this drone isn't designed to fly any significant distance away from the subject, and is autonomous, there really isn't any 'distance' rating to consider. Yes, it will be interesting to see how this and the Neo compare, mainly in terms of flight time, camera, and image quality!

With the hoverairx1 pro and pro max about to hit the market, this smart lags behind. The doubt is when it will arrive in Europe since the company gives priority to the Asian market, AU, the US and finally Europe.

Loving my X1 besides the poor IQ and I already thought I need to swap to DJI and get the NEO :D no way of course. Pro Max it will be. I guess pricing for it will be around 500USD.

I’ve got a HoverX1. It does everything I need and I like that it folds. I don’t see anything about the Smart that would justify me buying it while I still have the original Hover X1.

Yes, it was a limited release model worldwide. It remains on the Japanese website. I suspect it may be released in a limited release worldwide again at some point.

My Mini pro 4 will never have LTE because there is no slot for the sim card.

On the Air, there is a separate compartment for the lte dongle (the sim card goes in that). On the mini, there is a 'harness' that you use to strap the dongle to the drone. The dongle plugs into the usb port on the drone. I see a different clientele between the Hover Air X1 and other DJI drones. I suspect the same thing with the Neo. I own a Hover Air X1 and also have two DJI drones. It was a very exciting and fascinating test phase with the Hover. But if I go hiking now or even if I go on vacation or just on a weekend trip, then it wouldn't even occur to me to "just" take the Hover with me. I see it more as a first drone or a cool feature for an influencer. Hover or Neo.

Sure, you can do that, but that kinda misses the point of what I'm saying. There needs to be a way for the drone to ongoingly update its RTH location based upon the movement of the controller so you know it will come back to the controller when there are issues, saving you from having to manually update RTH provided you have time and awareness to do this if there's an issue an you're busy riding a bike or driving or whatever.

Nice feature but be careful on how and where to use it be sure to develop all necessary reflexes to be confortable with the cruise control. My last crash on my Mini Crash pro caused lots of damages and was with cruise control on

As of today, I tried and was in mid mapping flight and my controller crashed. At first, there was a severe lag, and I had no control of my aircraft or at least could not see where it was at or going, and then my screen went black. I rebooted my controller as quickly as possible, and regained full control of my drone with no lag. And brought it home as quickly as possible. This is with the latest software that I updated last weekend. Tried to do a much smaller mapping job and didn’t make it 30 seconds without my controller crashing.

IOS is still at 1.13.8. Android is now at 1.13.10 if you're using an android phone with the controllers without a built in screen. And, of course, as per the video DJI Fly is also at 1.13.10 for the RC and RC2 controllers.

I did the update and switched batteries and it appears like none of the updates were related to batteries.

I only tried one battery on each after the updates, and neither gave me the typical battery requires firmware update prompt. I will try others today to make sure.
