NEWS FLASH!!!!! FOUND THE VERSIO OF ICECAST THAT SHOWS A GUI LIKE IN THIS VIDEO...IT'S VER 2.3.2 !!!!! The later CER are like a DOS window and you don't know what the hell is going on...Newer version is never better

I'll have to agree with the majority in the negative area for this video. Icecast never opens and shows a gui and has the functions and features in the video. What ver of Icecast do you have that does this???? Annoying things about these videos and the technology world we have work with. All I get when I START Icecast is a BLACK window looking like the backward dark days of DOS,,,,says STARTING...then some quick dialog in the box and it's gone! Don't know if the frickin Icecast is working or not. Might be best to look for something else.

I downloaded and installed icecast but there's no shortcut and the exe file doesn't even run. Just opens then closes in fractions of a second. You also skip over many things... This tutorial is definitely not the best and quite frankly it's pretty damn useless.

How in the world can you call this a "tutorial"? Soooo many issues...you start right off by bypassing a configuration page for the icecast! How is anyone suppose to be able to connect if you don't even go through the settings and EXPLAIN what goes where? I don't care if you change them or not, but for heaven's sake it isn't a tutorial if you don't go through the settings on the configuration of passwords and such! Then you zip like everyone understands! Get a clue...if we understood, we wouldn't need a tutorial, now would we? YOU claim this to be the best tutorial...that isn't up to you to decide since you KNOW what you are doing, WE are the ones to judge that! This tutorial needs to go back to the drawing board and start over with DETAILS that can be understood by us.

I couldn't follow your instructions and I have been doing online radio for 17 years. It is good that YOU know how to do this but when you teach-teach in baby steps because you cannot assume people looking at this know what you are talking about. Slow down the movements on your steps. It was going so fast I was thinking "he must think we viewers already know what he is talking about." Lastly don't call it the best ever when that is for us the viewers to tell you. Just say informative, simple setup or something less vain :D THIS comment was mainly for viewers more than the author. :D :D

So i've linked butt to icecast, I can listen to myself casting, but how can I get other people to listen me? When i post them the URLs that allow myself to listen to my stream, they get unable to connect or server not found (PS thanks for the vid, already great it got me where i am)

Your tutorial is incomprehensible for a beginner. Your youtube screen is a narrow focus of your large screen that the viewer cannot see. Your changes in screen and voice subject changes are so rapid that it is just a blur of incomprehensible information. What newbi understands OGG, you mention a lot of terminology that almost no newbi will understand. You refer to websites but fail to show the URL. It appears that you are rushing to get this video done in one hit, in one video when if you are time limited, it would have been better to take it slowly and put it in several videos. This tutorial is well meaning but at the end of the day one of the greatest disappointments I've ever seen on what should be a set of simple tutorial. After logging around a 12 odd hits on this video, I have butt and icecast downloaded but your IMages are NOT the same that a newbi will see. It's time you trashed this video and did it again.
