Hi timmcintyre5236, These are from a Japanese company called Moriwaki. Unless you can read Japanese I recommend just going on amazon and ordering from there. There are lot's of frame slidders on there and yes they do work good for those long rides to stretch out on . Good luck and stay safe out there.

Thanks for the great video. It nice that the NC is relatively easy when it comes to oil changes and general maintenance. I like the look of the frame sliders you installed. Can you tell me who makes them and where they can be purchased? I've often wondering how they would hold-up in a crash. Probably fine for low to moderate impacts. Looking forward to hearing your assessment.

Thanks for the comment. The frame sliders are Moriwaki brand which is based in Japan. You could try amazon or e-bay or some other online shops. I'm pretty sure other manufactures would work just fine. I've dropped my bike once and the frame sliders worked great saving me lot's of money on replacing the fairings and other parts. Well worth the investment.

How many miles did you get out of the old tire? That's some uneven weird wear you showed on the old front tire. I recently changed a DOT 2015 original stock Bridgestone on a CTX700 with just shy of 6 thousand miles (USA). It looked way better than your old one. I bet I could go another 500 to 1000 miles and it still would have worn better than your old tire. How's the new tire holding up

I don't remeber exactly how many miles I got out of the old tire but it's probably around the 6,000 mi. mark. The new tire is holding up just fine. It could be my preference on left turns and leaning a little more than on Rt. turns. Overall I'm happy with these Bridgstones.

@d.i.y.davejapan
@d.i.y.davejapan Жыл бұрын
Hi spacecruiser, thanks for liking my videos. Taking off all the bodywork panels are mainly removing the little plastic push in screws. If you get a small scredriver just push the plastic screw in the middle circle area and it should open up and pull out. Just follow along starting from the trunk going towards the front of the bike. When you get to the front and have all the pins removed don't pull it off but rather slide it towards the head light and it should just slide off. Of course it takes some wiggling but if it doesn't come off double check to make sure all of the screws and push pins are out. Good luck. By the way you should also remove all the pins from the bottome fairing as well.

I can't beat the dunlop for price, Pirelli is awesome for grip and rain, but sadly I got less than 5,000mi on the one I tried. The front dunlop went 16,000mi so I stuck with it and tried a shinko rear this time. It's doing well with grip and hasn't worn much other than a few spots from wheelies.

I just watched your video and was impressed with the calmness and clarity of all you did. I'm 76 ! I now realize if I want to do all this myself, I need a bead breaker, plastic rim protection when using the tire removal spoons as well as a static balancer, new valves and some weights. Instead of all that equipment which generally speaking I will only rarely use, I decided to just stick with the wheel removal and run both wheels down to the bike shop with my new tires, and save the labor costs at least. Thanks for showing that part. can at least do that. Thank you. Good luck and ride safe. BTW: I watched all 3 parts of wheel and tire removal on the CTX. I am much wiser now.

Hi, I have some questions regarding user shaken. I was told by a youtuber like below: First, you don't need to Replace unnecessary parts as long as your car is well maintained, yet you still need to get "Jibaiseki Hoken" from a car shop, gas stand, or garages. They won't inspect your car if you don't have "Jibaiseki Hoken". As long as you have all the requirements they ask for and it would be helpful if you know Japanese. That's the only issue here if you're a foreigner Language barrier, and the application forms that you need to fill up. You also need to get a schedule for a specific date to get your car inspection though you still get in line & wait for your turn. My question is that, do I have to get pre-inspection at local repair shops to get the “Jibaiseki Hoken”? Can’t I just take my car a prefecture’s check center to get the user shaken directly without getting the pre-inspection from dealers or local shops?
@awacruizer
@awacruizer Жыл бұрын
Does your car have shaken now or did it expire? If it's still valid you can just renew your jibaiseki hoken at the shaken center after it passes. If it's expired you should just take it to a local garage and have them do everything this time and in two years you can take it to the center before it expires. I usually go at least one week before it expires incase there's some repairs I have to do. Your jibaiseki hoken should be valid with your shaken so if it's not expired you don't have to take it to a local garage. I hope this helped and good luck.

Is age the reason you have to perform shaken every year on your truck? I'm also curious what sort of underbody rust will fail a car- i know they are strict but hopefully they won't fail someone for surface rust, especially on control arms and stuff.

My pick-up is considered a work truck so it's for safety reasons. It can have hold up to 1000kg. I'm not sure about the rust situation but they do go underneath and make sure it's road worthy by hitting the frame with a hammer and shaking the control arms. Good luck.
