YOU are a fabulous instructor. I purchased a used BL400 and had zero idea how to do anything other than stare at it wondering what in the heck I purchased. I purchased it to surge my hooked rugs before I did a final finish of the edges. At least now I have an Idea how to thread this contraption. The book I got with it was...Ha? What the what? I'm going to spend some time watching your videos. This my be a old Video but it sure was useful. Thanks.

When threading my accomplish, it “sticks” in the thread tension dial. When I try to sew, the needle unthreads because the stuck thread won’t pull from the spool. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Which model of Sashiko is this? Our shuttle race has a semicircle brown pad in the centre, not the full circle yours has in 1:48 and other shots. Wondering if getting the newer shuttle race would help with thread dropping or only work in a newer machine.

Thank you for the tip about changing directions! I’m quilting a Christmas tree quilt and am changing directions around the trees and kept having thread breaks and jams. I’ll implement that tip immediately! Also, I oil the shuttle race each time I change bobbins. Is that too much? I believe I saw it on another instructional video.

Thank you for this... my needle threader stopped working soon after I brought my machine back from service. It's a three hour drive to my nearest Babylock service center, and I wasn't going to go back so soon after getting it home. Thought I would have to just thread the needle by hand until I could justify making the trip to town for the dealer. This video saved the day, my needle threader is now working, and I don't have to make that long trip for a simple fix. Now if fixing the error I get when I plug in my foot controller is as simple, I would love to know how. That also stopped working after I brought it home from service. I'm getting used to sewing with the green light, but still prefer my foot controller.

I was practicing doing corners and having trouble clearing the stitch fingers your explanation and videos are fantastic and make interpreting the owner's manual much easier. Thanks and I've subscribed as you are now my go to on what the heck does that mean or how do I do that!

I heard then you can take it over to your sewing machine at least twice. So not a replacement for a sewing machine. That's the answer I came looking for. Thanks for posting.
@smartman13612 күн бұрын
Not the poster, but they serve two very different purposes. A sewing machine is for different types of stitches within projects, a serger is for finished edges and sewing sections with selvage together. You can't do a buttonhole on a serger for example. It would be awesome to theoretically imagine having an "all in one" machine, but it's two completely different processes that they are meant to handle. You need the extra length and reach of a traditional sewing machine for example to work on parts of projects that have plenty of length to reach the working area for example, whereas the serger works exclusively on edges, so the needle has to be right against the cutting edge
