Wonderfully articulate and insightful. Paul is an inspiration, coming from a place of genuine honesty. What a talent.

This was the ability/talent elite Kiss lineup, and that includes the time with Eric Carr, God rest his soul. I regard Carr and Singer interchangeably because they were both wonderful drummers and a great fit. With no disrespect to original Kiss, because I love the era that started it all, but Kulick and Carr/Singer were superior musicians to Ace and Peter. Kulick was the same generation of player that Ace was, but he evolved from 70s guitarist to a very well-rounded 80s guitarist, learning and incorporating an appropriate amount of "shreddy" techniques to hold his own with the new generation of players, but without scrapping his authenticity and becoming a mindless walker. And when the Revenge era hit, he went back to his roots more. He was the total package, and a consummate professional who stays faithful to the fans to this day. Carr was a similar story -- of the right age to be a 70s rock drummer but open to new styles that included double bass drum use and more "metal" grooves. I do not believe Kiss would have survived the 80s with such a convincing transition into 80s hair metal if the originals had stayed. Not that I don't love the Catman's swingy grooves or Ace's "Keith Richards on steroids and cocaine" approach. It's all wonderful in it's own way. But this era was a kind of "real" that longtime fans like me miss.

I was worried they wouldn't live up to my high expectations playing live as I have thought them to be the BEST band to come around in decades. Incredible song-writing, fantastic musicians and a real front man who looks as natural as the icons from years past. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. My only disappointment was brought up below in the fact that they didn't get enough time on stage. I will be honest. I travelled to this concert to see them and not the main act. Very happy I did and will definitely pursue them at another venue in the future. (ps thanks for the upload Stacy!)

Those last 2 KISS were not to be big time sellers like those classic 70s KISS albums. No original lineup on both of the albums but Sonic Boom was the closest sound to the original lineup on all the songs from the 70s KISS albums

I have a feeling that management didn't have time to set up video recording because the band was very busy with planning the next 6 months. Then you had the issue where the band didn't spend much time in the studio because the next tour was booked. Hindsight is 20/20 and I'm sure Kiss should have or could have but it was not in the cards

Gene's bass tone is so damn good. Classic, looks like his Ripper through an SVT. Thought it might be the Grabber but that one has 2 pickups so it's definitely a Ripper. Can't see the varitone switch due to the lighting. Everyone sounds great.
